I must confess sometimes I read threads in the men discussion area & I really liked reading their topic of what they liked about women.

So I thought maybe we should try our own.

What do you like about your partner/lover/husband, companion, BF...friend....guys in general?

Generally I like height, biceps and visible veins in the hands and forearms.

My bf (lucky me has all three) but what I love most about him is his cool calm and collected consistency.

I'm quite an emotionally volatile person, so I love that we balance each other out.

I could go on, and on, but I don't want it to look like I'm bragging.

Ooh ooh, I also love how they smell

Everything and Nothing! I'll leave it at that or else it could get dirty on both points.

Feeling safe with them, their testosterone machismo, physical features and sex, their deep voices, the way what you see is what you get with them, they are yummy.

I like that a lot of men work very hard to support their families. Women do this too, obviously, but men don't have the luxury of being able to choose between staying home and working. Women are praised whether they choose to stay home to watch the children or go out to earn a living. A man who chooses to stay with the children while his wife works, even if it was because his wife wanted to continue her career, is seen as lazy. I don't understand the logic.

I like their shape a lot (the general V-like shape), the deep and husky voice, their strength yet surprising tenderness that often comes with it.

I also appreciate men that enjoy getting physical ~ running, biking, etc. with me at times. Meaning, not just wanting to sit or lay around with me, but let's work out together a couple of times a week.

If they respect people, women, and have respect for me.

I've had the "handsome" man but if he disrespects me and doesn't have what it takes to live side by side and be a family man, I can't see that man as attractive at all.

Also he has to have a job/career or a healthy hobby... something that tells me he is motivated for something.

Trippin and I seem to have the same likes...Although I have been married probably longer than she has been alive

I love men's hands (and you men who are currently reading this thread are probably surprised, but lots of women do...).

I love my hubby's voice... it's deep and I find that sexy.

He's extremely calm. Nothing ruffles his feathers.

He makes me feel safe.

I think men in general are funnier than women. And these days, for me, to laugh is wonderful.

Smell is a big one. I love how they smell. Unless he's just back from the gym...

I like a man w/sexy eyes. Ones that r expressive & I can read & connect w/ without a word. When we can connect at a glance across the room....

I love muscular thighs. Always have. Huge crushes on Dan Jansen's legs oh & Greg Louganis! Mighty fine legs!

I love to be wrapped in a mans embrace & pulled close to hold. Feel safe. A large hand on my face to cradle me in close.

A heavy growly voice to grab my attention.
And one that's really interested in the workings of my brain!!! Wants to know me as a person, not just sexually. He doesn't wanto fix me, but help me grow as a woman. Become my true self.

A man who walks with confidence regardless of build. Who takes pride in his masculinity but doesn't flaunt it. He's secure yet inquisitive.

And yes, if no one is going to say it, he has to know what to do with that sex muscle! That makes sex a sensual tantric experience for BOTH of us!

((((Sigh))))

That's the double standard in this culture that pisses me off! It's just like women are demonized if they work and not stay home. But it's okay for a man to work and not stay home.

Anyway, to answer the question: The upper body strength of men never ceases to amaze me! I wish I had that kind of strength. It's convenient; they don't usually need help moving heavy stuff.

Also, I like height, nice biceps, deep voice (but not TOO deep or they sound like demons, LOL), and their perspective on things. Stubble looks great only on SOME guys. Not all men can pull this off. In general, I don't like beards or mustaches; it hides their faces too much. I also like a nice smile too.

I've also found men to be better friends, neighbors, co-workers, and bosses. Men seem to be more straightforward----if a man is your enemy at work, you KNOW he's your enemy. Unlike women (not all, I know) who will smile and act like your friend but stab you in the back the first chance she gets.

I like to say that men will stab you in the chest, women will stab you in the back. The chest analogy is you "see it coming", unlike your back. You have to check it now & then to see there's no knife in it if you're around women all day, LOL.

I'm going to answer without reading comments first.

What do I like about men?

I like eye contact, no doubt.

I like their playfulness in flirtation.

A strong handshake, for some reason that gets me, when/if that opportunity arises.

I do find that I prefer them taller than myself, gives me a sense of protection even if I believe that I can protect myself.

I like their subtle insecurities, though they can be bigger than me, it's a vulnerability that balances the power scale.

I like a good sense of humor in them, some form of flattery and if they like sports, even better.

I know I could think of a bunch of things, but the one thing I love most about my bf is his size. I've always been overweight, and he's big enough to make me feel small when he holds me, but muscular enough to still look sexy it's not a trait I've been able to find in the past.

In terms of what I like about my guy friends? (Not boyfriends, mind you; I haven't really found the right person. That and I'm always kind of worried about rushing too quickly into things) Well, the people at my tabletop gaming group are very nice people -- when I was talking to one of them about my issues, he was a bit skeptical, but he didn't blow me off (and made me laugh as well, which...nowadays I need all the laughs I can get. They're pretty precious). The same friend is also someone I can feel I can just ramble on about my hobbies with without getting stared at like I'm speaking alien or something. And the guys at my tabletop gaming group -- even though I can occasionally be the token woman there (depending on who comes in), they don't treat me like an outlier. They really do treat me like an equal, someone they can just chat with about stuff like movies and such. Someone on their level. There's also a friend of mine I've gone to Renaissance Fairs with in the past who's generally very understanding, funny, and just a nice person. My dad has his faults, but he has a good sense of humor and does have his share of good advice (like telling me that I really have to save myself as well as others, basically. Considering I've had a history of feeling guilty about that at times, it's a relief to hear). There was my middle school teacher, who was warm, supportive and cool (I even got to play piano in a band with him), my freshman-sophomore high school writing teacher, who my class and I went on walks with at times and we could just chat (and complimented my writing), my mom's boss who served as one of my informal uncles was very supportive and warm and did a good job helping take care of my brother and I when we were young, a friend of my dad's who served as another informal uncle had a great sense of humor, and a lot of my guy Internet friends...well, they treat me like an equal, they're kind, and they're just generally very good friends.

And my college math teacher, who's very supportive and understanding about my current math issues, and my horseback riding instructor, who has a wicked sense of humor. I think what I like about the men in my life is that they really are lovely, decent, warm, funny people, and I'm glad to have them.

Ah, such a wide ranging subject.

Depends very much on the man and who he is to me.

Broadly speaking - Humour, intelligence and good conversation, curiosity about life/the world, tolerant, open minded, caring and gentle. That goes for romantic partner and friends (my son is like that too).

Solely on a physical level for romantic partners, I'm not narrow about physical appearance, it's the soul I fall in love with - but I love my husband's blue eyes, the twinkle he gets in them sometimes and his cute smile. Also I love the smell of his skin and snuggling up to him.

I forgot to say that there's nothing like a man's strong arms around me to make me feel safe, even though I know that doesn't guarantee anything of course. But it's a nice feeling.

For a partner/spouse, I always like intelligence, humor, and someone who notices the LITTLE things about me, someone who pays attention. I like men who can carry on a conversation, share ideas, think deeply about things---not just superficial talk but life in general. It can be so hard.

I've started this answer like 10 times and I'm drawing a blank because what I like isn't gender specific.

Like for instance my hubby: his long hair and pretty eyelashes, his sense of humor, that he's so damaged I don't have to feel bad about how broken I am and how he always smells of patchouli.

But none of those things is gender specific so I'm stymied.
