Ladies,
I've never had much of a sex drive, and I've been on psych meds that had a negating effect since 1999. But in the last 6 months I've had the opposite problem. To put not to fine a point on it, I'm really horny. Haven't had any med changes, or changed how I eat, so the only thing I can think of is it must be some weird side effect of menopause. And since I'm single at the moment, it's quite frustrating. Need to start dating, as soon as I get out of the hospital. splitimage |

Yes, it was the final big "hurrah" after which I had no more blood flow or periods.
I had "fireworks" for about 2 or 3 months. I was "coping with it" several times a day. After the final number of months of this, it was all psych&med normal again. Yes, I do have feelings come over me sometimes, but it's not the embarrassing "cat in heat" that I had that year. Good luck, try to see the bright side, lol. ![]() |

I started having quite an active libido about the time I began perimenopause in my 40s...my XH could not keep up...and now that I am post menopause and single, I have dated men quite a bit younger than me and it is fun and I am not having any of the menopause troubles I see on tv. It's great because I don't have to worry about whether or not I'm going to have a period when I see my current guy friend so randomly. All those hot flashes and night sweats and random periods I got in my 40s during peri. Yay for post menopause!

Yes! If you google sexsurge you will find the site of Joanna Merriwether, which offered some reassurance that I was not alone...
Another twist for me is that, having been in a same-sex relationship for the past 18 years, though knowing I am bisexual, the urge is for men, not women. Strange times indeed...! |
