I started my period on Monday and today is Friday. Maybe this is normal for some, but I am used to just getting a light period for 3 days. It has been pretty heavy. Plus, I've been on birth control for more than 15 years (generic of Yasmin). My mood swings have been extremely very severe over the past week. I was just crying a few minutes ago. It happens over anything at all, and I am still experiencing cramping, when usually it becomes less and less as my period ends. I have also been extremely irritable and started cursing up a storm as soon as I got home from work from too much noise. The Bipolar does not help, obviously.
I am hoping my period will end soon and that these cramps and severe mood swings will go away. It feels like it's never going to go away, and I am concerned my period is not slowing down as far as heaviness. I don't know what went so wrong where I am experiencing all these symptoms. I wouldn't think this would happen after being on birth control for so long. I am wondering why things changed for the worse? I don't expect anyone to be a doctor, but for anyone who can relate, did you ever figure out possible causes? This is not normal for me. Also, it seems everything out there mentions mood swings before menstruation....it seems my mood swings are just as bad, possibly worse during my period.
Note: A few months ago, I did end up taking 2 packs of birth control in a row to skip a period, but this was completely approved by my doctor, and I was told there was nothing bad about doing so. Then, my period came that time, but it was totally normal as far as duration and everything else....so I'm not thinking that would have thrown it off since I went back to my normal routine(?)
