Hi everyone, Guess its about time for an update.
Well, heres whats been going on. My nausea has gone away in the last three weeks or so (YAY FINALLY). I can now eat like a normal human being. I was on the verge of firing my doctor the other day, because I had bloodwork done two months ago(pregnancy serum test) and he hadn't called me in for results or for referral to a prenatal doctor. Well as it turns out, they lost my bloodwork! So thats why he hasnt called. But now, I am leaving to go to my hometown for three weeks on saturday, and wouldn't you know it the doctor finally called me to schedule an appointment yesterday.. when I don't have the time! I plan to go to my old doctor in my hometown and have him do the initial workup. BUT I am really really concerned because I am at 15 weeks now, and I don't have a belly bump AT ALL. I can't palpitate my belly and feel anything, besides my usual fat. I haven't felt movement, I haven't really felt anything to be honest. I am so worried that something might have happened to the baby. For that reason I went to the nearest clinic to me the other day, a walk in clinic, because i have no way of getting to my reg doc right now(its farther away). Well, i waited two hours and she refused to treat me because I already had a doctor! boy was I not a happy camper. She talked to me for five minutes, felt my belly, and told me I was probably fine but that she could not do any prenatal care since I already had a doctor. Well, gee, thanks for the confidence booster. The other thing is I may not know what exactly I am feeling for, and I am a big girl too. Im 5'9" and i weigh in around 220 pounds. Am i freaking out about nothing? Is this normal? I thought some of you women might know. |

I only felt some sort of movement at 16 weeks and had very little "bump" other than relative weight gain. The first bit of movement I felt was like bubbles popping in my tummy. It could well have been something else but I just knew!!!!
Sorry about your bad luck with the doctor but heres hoping you have more luck with your home town doctor. Try not to worry, I know it can be very fretful at this early stage and every little worry feels magnified. Good luck and remember to take care of you! __________________ Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long. |

Thanks Sabrina.
Yeah, you are right about every worry being magnified. I just cant stand the thought that something might be going wrong, and the added frustration of that doctor not being willing to help me really frustrated me too. Glad to hear i wasn't the only one that didnt have much of a belly...though now that i thnk about it, i do have a belly, but its soft and not hard, and can be palpitated in. I can't wait to get to the doctor and find out for sure. I think i would feel worse if something had gone wrong and i didnt know. |

oh freewill I was SO sick for the first three months too. Oh gosh it was just awful, I even had to quit my job because of it. Thankfully things have settled down now. I never thought of that- i probably did lose quite a bit of weight being sick!

hon your dr hasn't listened for a heartbeat yet? do you really need a referral for an ob/gyn? by all means see a dr when you get to your hometown! at first you will feel little flutters that may feel like little gas bubbles in there. I only gained 10 lbs with my daughter. I was tiny when she was born lol. good luck hon

Rainbowzz, I understand your stress, even though I'm not as far along as you are.
Have you checked this site: http://www.i-am-pregnant.com/pregnancy/calendar/week/15 That way you can check in with other women who are at the same stage as you are. It's been helpful for me. Hugs, LMo __________________ thatsallicantypewithonehand |
