Argh.
Ok, so I've been visiting a pregnancy support forum since I've never done this pregnant thing before and it's all new. I'm now in Week 10, and some of the other members are starting to say their goodbyes due to miscarriages. The protocol seems to be that they say goodbye, and then mention that the full miscarriage story is in a related "Miscarriage Grief" forum. I told myself many times not to go there and read the horror stories, but last night, I did it anyway. Now I'm freaked out. I had a hard time sleeping last night, wondering if every twinge or ache was the beginning of a miscarriage. I've never had one so I don't know if it's obvious that one is coming on or not. But some of the other stories involved women feeling just fine until they went in for their ultrasound, which showed a motionless baby with no heartbeat My bad... __________________ thatsallicantypewithonehand |

We've all done it. Let it be a good reminder of why nobody should try to self-diagnose. You're probably fine, but does your OB have an after-hours number you could call for reassurance? Or maybe even just an "ask a nurse" line -- most major cities have them. Hang in there. CB |

Thanks friends - I know that I shouldn't have looked. I don't know why I caved last night. The horror stories never help, even if they are true and are a reality. I just need to take care of myself and lay low for the next 2 weeks. I see my OB on Friday, and so far, have no reason to believe that anything is going wrong, so will concentrate on positive imagery for the next week. Ommmmm......

LMO~
Hon I think its just a natural tendency to be interested and to know what could happen. I know when I was pregnant that I read about everything. I didnt have a computer at the time to be a part of a forum like you are.. but I definitely wanted to know what was going on , signs or symptoms etc. And knowing you , I think thats all this was about. Because you are such an information guru ( I mean that in a positive way) curiosity got to your senses. I would have been the same way. BTW I am sorry I didnt congratulate you and your hubby sooner. But my best wishes and thoughts are with you during this most magical time of your lives. Babies are a wonderful gift. Enjoy every minute of this time!! Love Beth __________________ |

You're right, but no more horror stories for me. Not healthy for my little plum (he/she is allegedly the size of a plum right now) __________________ thatsallicantypewithonehand |

(((LMO @ BABY))) I am sorry that you are struggling at this time. I agree with everyone else Stay off the forums, that is too much stress and depression for you at this time. Keep you and your baby safe. Take care and good day (((LMO@BABY))). Soidhonia
