I have thick hair,it hangs a little past my shoulders.I washed it around noon today and now almost ten hours later it's still damp.
I don't understand how that's even possible.i towel dried it after I washed it,even wrapped it in a towel for about an hour afterwards. I don't like always using a hair dryer. How can I help it to dry faster on its own? |

Hi, I also have thick hair. It would take at least 2 hours for it to air-dry. My hair is short and I wash it every other day. I always blow-dry it after washing it. I spray it with a leave-in conditioner after having shampooed it and conditioned it. Sometimes I also put a little bit of styling creme in it. So, yeah, I blow-dry it and it's still very healthy and soft.
Besides blow-drying, I can't think of a way to make your hair dry faster. A few years ago I had long hair and it took 8-10 hours to air-dry. |

Thanks Laurie.
I hate blow drying but really have no choice I guess unless I wanna walk around with wet hair all day. |

Doesn't take long at all for my hair to dry at all as it is very fine and thin and short. Good old genes..........
![]() Leaving a hair treatment in while you wear a shower cap will help to restore it's softness. Only other way to shorten the drying time apart from using a hair dryer is to get your hair cut very short. Not always a desirable option. |

My hair is thick and takes hours to air dry. I don't use a hairdryer often because it takes so long that my arms get tired. I usually wrap my hair in a towel, and wring it out til I can't twist anymore, and then wait a few minutes (15-20) then blow it the rest of the way dry, IF I were blowing it dry. Otherwise I just wring it out with the towel and let it air dry.

Mine is long and thick. It can take a couple of hours. I usually wrap my hair in a towel for a while. If I braid or put my hair up in a clip or bun, I can still find dampness when I take my hair down at night. I cannot remember the last time I used a hair dryer.

The hair dryers of my day really damaged hair so I've air dried my hair for years, it's very think so it takes hours even though it's short now. I don't know of any way to hurry up air dry....sometimes it depends on the temperature and humidity of the air.

If your hair has been processed by perm or color or straightened, the hair absorbs more water. I have very fine thin hair but had it highlighted all over and now it feels thicker and takes much longer to dry.

I have sometimes gone to my stylist just to have her style my hair. It's such a treat. |

My hair is short and thick but it only takes about 30 mins to air dry. It used to be a shorter time, but now my hair is down to my eyes. Also my hair is annoying tf out of me, but I'm trying to grow it out cause I want long hair again. I should probably buy a brush and start brushing it again. It's getting to that wild stage where it doesn't want to curl right anymore. haha.

My hair is short, and baby fine, and only takes about 30 minutes total to air dry.

My hair is thick and hip length and takes forever to dry. I make sure to wash it in the evening, especially in winter. I don't want to go out with wet hair. And the last time I tried a blow dryer, my hair just laughed at it and said, "You're cute."

I use a small fan to dry my hair, cold air won’t damage hair right?
