After masturbating this morning I had severe stomach pain and was eventually sick, then went to the toilet afterwards and it wasn't until then that things went back to normal. I have had stomach pain a few times afterwards but never this bad.. have never been sick and had to go to the toilet to feel better. What causes it? Is it just being vigorous, or holding one's breath during masturbation? I don't have burning pee or any signs of an infection.
Thanks. |

Thats happened to me before. I think it is just that your tensing your stomach muscles up when you do that and a combination of where you are on your cycle.

Sorry you experienced that. There can be other reasons for pain there; not necessarily infection. Probably a good idea to check with your doctor. If nothing comes of it, you will feel relieved. If something has changed, you can get some help. I wish you peace and comfort.

My period had just finished. It has happened a few times but never to that extent. I tried putting a hot water bottle on my stomach but that just made it worse. |

Could you try talking to a different doctor? Someone very open or would that not make a difference for you? I understand your discomfort and I also think it's biology...docs see and hear all kinds of biological problems. Worth a try? Good luck

I sometimes get that.
I do think it is (1) stomach muscles and also (2) air, either from breathing heavy or air getting up there. It could also be fibroids. Which are harmless but can cause pain with sex. So even though this isn't sex I could see it causing a problem. I have fibroids. |

Thanks for replying. Tbh I don't think it would matter who I saw, as she is an open doctor. Maybe if it was one I didn't usually see, but would certainly rather talk to a female doctor. It might be less embarrassing to talk to another one but they will still write notes on the system I would think, am not sure how much is shared with other doctors. I could make an enquiry about it and ask I suppose. The thing it doesn't happen every time I masturbate, but usually in bed. Perhaps it is the way I am lying? Am not sitting right up when I do it, but then again I know it has happened when I have been upright as well. |

according to my own doctors when it has happened to me...
if it only happens after sex/masturbating it is nothing to worry about. the muscles being worked out during this activity do not usually get a work out otherwise, so sometimes they can ache and cramp afterwords. to put it in a different light. the muscles used for sex and masturbation are the same muscles needed and active when in labor, the pain is the muscles contracting, squeezing. they get tired or over used you get pain, just like you would in your legs if you ran a mile before stretching and havent run a mile in a long time. solution not to do marathon sessions. take it slow and easy, its not a race to the finish line. slower, less frantic, is better. take time to enjoy instead of wham bam thank you ma'am. (my doctor loves cliches lol) other tips dont insert so far. the upper portion of the vagina and the cervix / womb do not have nerves that tell you when you are doing something potentially harmful unless its like a quick forceful jab. inserting too far, too fast and not using lube can bruise a womans insides. make sure your toys, hands what have you are clean and is a comfortable fit for your body. the need for bathrooming afterwards is normal. its natures way of flushing out the urinary tract of harmful bacteria that may have entered the urinary tract. some women when they have reached their orgasm, they dont always to put it bluntly and what its called "squirt" instead the orgasm fluid remains in the bladder until you go into the bathroom. sometimes when the bladder is full or over full there is a pain that tells a person they need to go to the bathroom. my suggestion go to the bathroom before you do your thing so that your bladder doesnt get so full of fluid during the high point of your activity. |

You mentioned "severe" stomach pain and feeling sick afterward. That warrants a conversation with a MD. I'm sure you know this already but folks are only sharing opinions on PC; we aren't doctors. As I said before, if nothing is to be done, your MD can tell you that and you can feel relieved and move on. Pain is a communication from body. Good to get it checked out. If I can be of any help with your discomfort about talking to the doctor, please let me know. In my own life, I tend to be the friend that women talk to about body issues or things they are embarrassed about. It doesn't make me uncomfortable and I am glad to help people if I can. |

Thanks. I think I just need to enquire about it at the doctor's surgery and see if I can get a different female doctor. That would probably be ok. But thanks again for offering your support. |

Well I have been to the doctor and was given two sticks to take swabs, one to test for bacterial infection and one for STD, which having not had sex for a while now I doubt is the case, have already asked the person I was with and he insists he hadn't been with anyone else. So am thinking I might have a bacterial infection as have had brown discharge in the last few days. I saw another doctor from the normal one. But I hate anything going up my vagina anyway, one of the main reasons I don't enjoy sex, I tense up at the thought of anything going there. So am not looking forward to doing the tests. But thought I would update the thread anyway. Thank you for all the advice people have given me, is much appreciated.

May I ask more about your fear of anything entering your vagina or would you prefer not to discuss? No need to reply if you'd rather not. I hope your infection (if you have one) will be cleared up very soon for you. Take good care of yourself and good luck with the self-swabs |

Thanks SilverTrees. It's self swabs. They are very thin, but even with that I worry about any pain. I will have to shave myself down there to see where I am going lol, not using tampons I am not used to locating my vagina personally, usually if having sex I have let my partner take control.
I have always feared anything going inside my vagina, even before I had a really painful smear test as a virgin. But I don't think that helped the and it's just confused me with regards to my sexuality. I can't really let go and enjoy the moment but then I am not sure if that's because I am actually a lesbian. It's very confusing when it shouldn't be. Have never been with a woman so I can't compare the experience. Until then I don't think I can be sure of why I don't enjoy sex or intimacy. But long before the sexual confusion I worried about anything entering my vagina as I wouldn't use tampons at school. |

Not since that time, no, and no discharge either. So whatever it was might have cleared up by itself, am still not convinced that discharge wasn't period come early. Thank you for asking.
I am on the Pill so it really shouldn't be irregular. Who knows what it was? I will keep an eye on it. |
