I have gained 100% of my pre-diagnosis body weight on various meds and finally - knock on wood - am at a stable weight, even though on Zyprexa. The weight is large - 260 lbs for a 5'5'' frame at age 48 - but it is stable. I stopped gaining. I started walking 10K steps a day, and drink lots of fluids, and eat lots of fiber - the walking being a new thing. Maybe the walking helps or maybe there is some sort of a ceiling to where the weight climbs, even on Zyprexa. I take Zyprexa for Bipolar I and it helps tremendously.

I am still uncomfortable in this new body of mine, but am slowly getting used to it, primarily via learning to appreciate the beauty and the minds of other women of bigger sizes.

What I have a much deeper trouble with is the changed shape of my previously oval face.

So I thought I would learn to use makeup to create visual illusions.

I went to look for such videos on YouTube but all I have found would be videos put together by women with narrow faces who claim that by manipulations with bronzers, highlighters, liquid and powder foundation, concealers, etc. (all new terms for me but I am willing to learn) they make their faces thinner. I do not see that - I see a narrow face "before" and a narrow face "after" so the point of the manipulations is lost on me.

I wonder if any woman on here, and this being a MI forum, many have to deal with the medications-induced weight gain, know how to create somewhat of a visual illusion of smaller cheeks and a more contoured oval. I understand that I cannot go back to my pre-260 lbs facial shape, but I would appreciate if I can make my cheeks look less plump. Plus, I have always wanted to learn to use make-up but never had a reason to invest in learning, and now I do.

A related curiosity of mine - if I use make-up to accentuate the lips or the eyes, would that color accent draw attention away from my plump cheeks? And is it possible to use eye shadow to make the eyes appear relatively bigger? One of the saddest part in that weight gain for me is that now my eyes look average-sized and before on a skinny face they looked big.

Thank you for sharing!
