I am all about female empowerment, and especially within the workplace!!!!
Since I am a career oriented woman, I am speaking from that perspective and don't mean to leave anyone out, but that's the only perspective I know. I am surrounded by men in my job with MASSIVE egos, and today I made a major change within my company that will bring them more money, potentially more clients and which expands their services... I presented something that my CEO absolutely loved! So now he wants to roll out a strategy I have for one of my local clients to ALL of our clients in need of a localized Web presence. And I am sure that my boss now is DYING inside -- my male, VERY ego-driven boss, who is in fact quite insecure -- he had to watch me succeed with flying colors with our CEO today, and he didn't even congratulate me!! The EGO!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!! Well, I just want to put it out there that we as women CAN most certainly succeed and excel in anything we do.... and I am proving that at work, even when surrounded by males who completely dominate my field. Power to the women!!!!! Hooorayyyyyy! |

I mostly agree. Women do generally have to fight harder, but it isnt always male vs female. Some people are ego driven regardless. At my place of employment, I am the CEO. I relate to being career minded and believe that with drive, determination and hardwork, anything is acheivable.

Thanks for your post! I didn't mean to indicate I feel it's men vs. women in general.. it's only that way within my department AND within my particular field. I face a lot of male ego in my own field. But yes, it can go both ways certainly.
Very impressive you are a CEO! |

Awesome! Congratulations, Golden_Eve! Way to go!
That's sad that your boss hasn't congratulated you, and can't see past his own ego. If he were smarter, he'd realize (assuming he hired you?) that your awesomeness reflects well on him. |
