So I posted in the "doctors make me so mad!" thread that I finally found a doc to listen to me and officially diagnosed me with pcos. I was reading up on it and I guess a big part of why your testosterone is increased is due an increase in insulin which I have had problems with in the past. Keep in mind youre talking to an avid animal rights activist and I hate eating meat and only recently started eating it again for the first time in years. Well I guess the best way to lower my insulin to, in turn, lower my testosterone would be a high protein, low carb diet. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this kind of diet and knew of a website or something I could look at. What sucks is that were both poor college students lol and can't really afford to be buying specially made diet plans etc... so anything tailored to a tight budget would be much better.

about the only thing I do know for sure is that high protein diets can cause kidney stones.

eeeep.... i already have urinary tract problems! i used to battle UTIs in my early to mid teens. I had about 5 of them in a year. I was diagnosed hypoglycemic and my doctor told me if i felt an "episode" start to come on but couldnt get to carbs to just drink some sugary soda and id be fine until i could get to some food. well all that sugary soda gave me UTIs all the time. I eat hardly any meat as of right now so I think eating any at all would be high protein lol
