So I am officially in menopause. I am on the younger side as far as being in menopause but the blood work was positive and I just had a uterine biopsy to check things out. (ouch NO fun at all). I started on hormone replacement and follow up in about 6 weeks. My biggest issues are sweating and insomnia. The insomnia has been under control now for a month. I still have horrible night sweats and regular daytime sweating. The worse part is sweating down "below", my feet and my armpits. I can deal with the armpits because I am fortunate that it doesnt smell but the south of the border sweating is out of control. I need to change my underwear and sometimes pants at least twice a day. I have tried panty liners and even paper towels. It gets so uncomfortable because it makes me cold. So I will end up with freezing cold hands and feet. And cold...nether regions. Yesterday I was baby stroller shopping with my MIL and pregnant daughter and I had a zillion other things to do. I had to stop home and change my bottom half and socks before I did the rest of my things for the day. Is there anything anyone can suggest to control this or at least manage it? Maybe the hormone I am on needs to be switched but my gut tells me this is going to be a lingering issue even if the other sweating is under control. I was prescribed drysol to try but I lost the insert and forget how to start using it. (maybe someone can advice me on this as well). What can I do? Are there other pantyliners that would be better that would be like wearing a giant pad? And pads dont really cut it for me. I literally generate mad heat from my lower half. We sat at a booth and had lunch yesterday and the seat was literally hot when I got up. Last summer you could see moisture when I got up from a vinyl booth where I was sitting! I do not know what to do. I get dermatitis on my bum from the moisture sometimes and have a cream for that but I feel like I am constantly treating the symptoms. I know they may change the HRT when I see my GYN but does anyone have any ideas or experiences?

I know this probably going to sound stupid but have you tried applying antiperspirant? My mom, when she was sweating really bad, applied the clinical strength antiperspirant under her breasts, to her butt, bikini area, bottoms of her feet and sometimes even her hands if they were sweating really bad that day.

She tried small areas at first to make sure it wouldn't bother the skin but this is what worked for her she also put a layer of Zeasorb(it's a moisture control powder) on over the antiperspirant.

On a side note hubby sweats ALOT and he's had good luck with Sweat Block. It's a wipe that keeps you from sweating. Good luck to you sorry I can't be of more help.

Ugh...what a misery. I finished having periods when I was 54 (I'm 57), but I still have either post-menopause symptoms and/or medication side effects. I sweat. My back, under my boobs, armpits, and yes..."down there." I have used antiperspirant - to no avail. I don't sweat quite as heavily as you do (I feel so bad for you!), but I sweat plenty. We've been having oddly warm weather (70 degree days) - but it's not hot. Yet I turn my car a/c on when I drive because I'm so overheated and sweaty. For me the sweat smells like...sweat. I'm so self-conscious. Showering too much dries the heck out of my skin, so that's not entirely an answer. Doesn't help much, anyway. 1/2 hour after the shower I'm sweating again.

Your idea of using pads is actually clever. I've never thought of it.

I wish I has some advice for you. All I can say is that you're not alone. If any answers come my way, I'll certainly share them with you. The sweating is sooo unpleasant.

You've probably thought of this, but what about shaving your netherparts?

The only powder that works for me is called (not kidding) Anti Monkey Butt powder. After showering, you wanna dry your skin well, like maybe with your hair blow dryer. Then put that stuff on, but i would keep it away from any
Possible trigger:
"parts is parts". I did find some super long super thin pads that cover from practically belly button to butt dimples, but geez they were kinda expensive. But i do plan on using them when i go back to the gym. Otherwise i will use two thin panty liners end to end. Its the price we pay for being hot stuff, i guess! I presume youre only wearing 100 pct cotton granny panties. Anything else is crotchicide!

I have thought of this. I used to shave things in an attempt to "please" my husband who never asked me to do it. I was influenced by what I thought men wanted as if it was a porn star look. I've since realized how its not good to do that because I have gotten ingrown hairs and had an abcess once. I keep the lawn cut but do not go bare under any circumstances because it truly isnt good for us women. I learned how important the hair is to our bodies.

I just found long panty liners by kotex that I bought with a coupon yesterday so I will keep everyone updated as to whether its absorption is helpful. That cold feeling from getting sweaty is so uncomfortable!

I just joined your menopause club, @sarahsweets. It's no fun! My periods are out of whack. Like, I'll have a 4-5 day period which will stop but then like this month, 3 days later, it starts up again. I mean, wow! And the night and day sweets is crazy. Sometimes I'll get a hot flash during the day that lasts for up to 15 minutes. Otherwise, I now wake up drenched in sweat whereas I never did before. Hormones. Who knew.

Panty liners, powder, shave , deodorant etc

I wonder if hormonal replacement causes it. I am 54 and went to menopause at 52, I had hot flashes and sweats and stuff but my gyn never recommended any meds. Why are you taking hormonal replacement?
