Mannogram

I had a mannogram and they want me to come back for some additional x rays in a certain area.

Has anyone had this happen?

That happened once to my mom, they just wanted to further check things out. Turns out it was nothing and that she is absolutely fine. I think they call back for more X-rays quite often, just to make sure everything is in good order.

yep and it scared the pee out of me. they did another mammo and used a round thing to spread the tissue and that was the problem with me. I had tissue overlapping tissue. all was well

I think that they just like to be careful. I KNOW they say "don't worry this is normal" but I've had 3 Aunts and several cousins with breast cancer.

Thanks for your replys. I heard the same from my Doc and another person. I'm trying not to think about it. I don't go back until the 11th. I'll let you know what happens.

Yes, just last year. Now I have both types done every 6 months. They just want to be sure, for you. If it's so small they can't really be sure, then if it's anything important, it's a good thing it's so small!

Yes, I have! Mannogram

2 years ago, the GP gave me an order for a diagnostic mammo w/ ultrasound. I had some fatty lumps on the left breast which turned out to be nothing.

I've heard those develop in your 40's and I KNOW I'm starting into menopause-this'll be 3 months with no periods! YAY! Mannogram

Anyhow, I went for a regular one last week and they called yesterday asking me to come in for a follow-up and possible ultrasound. I'm not worried; even if it's cancer, they can catch it pretty well these days. One of my best friends is a 7-year survivor!

I got a letter from the place today and it said in most cases it's not cancer. I go for the extra smashing on Friday.

I'm all done for another 6 months. Doctor says nothing changed and is just scar tissue. But talk about compression ugh.. not just 2 views but I think I counted 10 for one side. I took extra pain meds before going, as this is always tearful for me without.

I got the compression yesterday. The tech would ask if I was ok and I would just say Hurry Up! That was terrible. I then had an ultrasound. They still don't know what it is. All they could tell is that there wasn't any blood in it so there isn't any infection. Now I have to go for a biopsy. I can't believe this is happening.

I'll keep you informed. Please pray for me. It will be appreciated.

Today I go for the ultrasound breast biopsy. I'll get the results on Monday. The doctor doesn't suspect it is going to be a problem because it can't be felt. Usually if it is a problem she said it is hard. So I am hoping for the best. Even if it is the worst it is right under the skin so it still should not be so bad.

I was able to get my results today. Everything is ok. What a relief. It is probably fibroid tissue. I have to have another mannogram in 6 months. When I had the biopsy they inplanted a metal chip so they can tell where I had the biopsy. It will only show up on a mannogram. She suggested digital mannograms in the future. She said my breasts are dense. I said does that mean they are nice and firm!

She was a great doctor and gave me a hug afterward. Now I can get back to my other problems.
