Is there a female role model in your life you look up to? Can be celebrity or someone closer to home for any reason you admire.

Right now, I have a photograph of Ruby Roundhouse from Jumanji on my wall (actress Karen Gillan) because she has my ideal body type (the character knows many forms of martial arts, and the actress undergoes incredible fitness routines to stay toned and fit for her role), she's confidant, and all around kick***.

Another role model of mine is Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. She's the studious type I strive to be, loves to learn like me, she's super smart and she's a good friend to Harry and Ron.

What about you? Who do you look up to?

Lillian Gilbreth. Pioneer of industrial engineering. Credited with inventing the pedal waste basket, putting shelves on the inside of refrigerator doors and putting light switches on walls. She was the first to apply psychology to the industry. Despite this she had I think it was 12 kids and a husband who supported her.

I did a brief research on her and she is fascinating. I'm guessing that Steve Martin movie is based on her? She also lived to be very old.

I completely forgotten to mention. Jane Goodall is at the tippy top of my women role model list, and I am a huge fan of Madeline Stuart and Bindi Irwin.

I first came across her though the book bells on their toes by her son. I was in grade school and loved the idea that a woman was first in this field. The movies were ok but the books better. Oh Jane Goodall was another one I admire greatly.

My primary care physician. She’s been my doctor for nine years and was initially a colleague at a previous job. I’m a physician assistant so I also look up to her professionally and I turn to her when I need support from the stresses of the job, almost as much as for my medical care.
