No PCOS.

No kids (infertile?)

all the fun mood swings on an 18 day cycle.

Anyone struggle with this?

My doctor thinks I have thyroid/hormonal issues.

I’ve read cycles shorten in peri menopause but 20 years would be a long time to be in peri menopause

Did you get your thyroid checked if your Dr thinks this could be the cause? Or hormone levels?

My cycle did shorten in peri menopause but this wasn’t until my late 40s and so far between 23-26 days which is bad enough, 18 must be exhausting.

My doctor thinks I have a thyroid issue and is sending me to an endocrinologist. I did have blood work over the years but nothing to indicate thyroid. I am not sure. Or either the issue was sub clinical but enough to affect me.

My family doctor has requested more bloodwork which has uncovered the issue a little more.

I'm not a professional but never had short cycles like you but... could it be that your cycles are just shorter? And am curious... why is it an issue now and not years ago? Was this the first doctor who listened? Did you get the results back?

The cycle often appeared to be just normal to me, but the roller coaster of mood issues seemed connected to it. I was often at the doctors for mood issues. One doctor had me get a biopsy on my uterus because she suspected endometriosis and possibly cancer. It came back negative. The mood issues were tied to my cycle I think and I am beginning to suspect there is a hormonal issue underlying everything.
