I have an IUD doctor recommended it. Though I use condoms., not as much with iud. Putting me at risks of STDs. Arms worker thinks it's unnecessary, it has caused weight gain and loss of sex drive. Do I ask to have it removed? Or just live with the consequences? The guys I've run into lately have been fixed. So it's even more unnecessary.

How can you know they’re telling you the truth about being fixed, though? I would still want to protect myself, not just take their word for it. You can still potentially get pregnant with an implant, too (and as you said, you’re more at risk of getting STDs etc).
As for whether you keep it or not, do you feel the cons outweigh the benefits? |

If the IUD is giving you unhealthy side effects it seems removing it would be a good idea.

Have you tried the copper IUD? I have that one and I haven't had any side effects.

Unless you saw their medical records you do not know if they are fixed. If IUD is a problem, ask your doctor about other methods. Certainly don’t use random guys’ stories as a. Birth control method

I'm getting iud removed in October. I switched doctors. I don't like how my former doctor acts around me. He claimed I "liked him" and takes calls from his wife, and pressured me to get iud. I use condoms I don't need iud it put me at risk cause I quit using condoms.

I’d not blame iud for stopping using condoms. IUD doesn’t protect from STD. You could and likely should use both.
Doctor said you liked him? What a weird thing to say. Rude |

Got it removed today. Mild cramping and looking forward to having a sex drive again. Not looking forward to periods. They were super light. Won't be the case now.

Got my period 2 days after removal. Sex drive returned today. Pretty happy about that. But still on period.
