I am someone who always likes to dress my best in public. I don't like dressing sloppy. At work as lead cashier, I wear my nicest outfits and feel weird about dressing in just a plain t-shirt (even though everyone else at work does). It's a big freedom to dress however I'd like at work--all my other jobs required a uniform. When I study, I wear a school shirt and jeans and I try not to wear slippers. When I go to the casino, I wear my "most jackpot award winning" outfit which is usually dressy and sparkly. I feel underdressed now when I wear only a sports bra. I spent most of my life going commando but now I feel weird if I don't wear underwear. I wear a shaping corset even to work cuz it makes me feel good about myself.

Wherever I go, I always want to look my best. I shop at Goodwill, but I look for designer and the highest quality attire. I am usually wearing nice jewelry at work or out and about. I get a lot of compliments at work.

Today, I went to the gas station in my pajamas which is so unlike me. I felt so weird, but it's my weekend and I'm spending the night at my parents. But it's not like me to wear something so indecent in public.

There used to be a time wear people "dressed up to get the mail". I consider myself very fashionable even though I get my clothes at Goodwill.

Is anyone else like this? Does anyone else dress up for the occasion, or always try to look your best wherever you go?

I try to dress for the day, I too shop thrift stores and find fashionable clothes at affordable prices. I rarely if ever go out in public in pjs but there was a fire in my apt building I was in bed and yes went out in Jan freezing wearing my coat over my pjs. That's the exception. I find dressing expresses how I feel and getting dressed makes me feel better.

I agree, if I'm not wearing clothes that make me feel good, I don't feel good about myself. At work it's not meant to be dressy, but when I wear tshirts or a sports bra instead of a real bra I feel lazy.
