What is labiaplasty? Plastic surgeons explain

Wow, I've never even worried about those parts of my anatomy. I don't wear those tight pants, which are probably unhealthy in general, though. What do you all think?

To be honest I never looked at a woman in that area no matter what they are wearing! I don’t look at men in that area either. I suppose it’s good for those who worry about it but in my more than 60 years here I’ve never heard of this before

I cant believe young ladies are doing this to themselves. There are exponentially more nerve endings in that area than in man parts, no joke. I also cant fathom that sisters make fun of their own sisters for what they look like. Plus, why are they comparing parts??! Non-boomers!

I heard that some women do have oversized labia, but haven't seen it myself.

I just don't shave my pubic hair, so my labia are totally hidden even when I'm naked. And I don't wear pants that tight.

I have never looked at other women's genitalia THAT closely before exploring the Labia Library link from this library, but I have seen flocks of naked women, what with going to public pools and saunas for a good part of my life. I also do not watch porn. I must say that I am surprised at the wide variation of the labial shape. I thought that my shape, which is sort of classical: labia major fully cover labia minora, wiith nothing protruding, is what most women have, but apparently it is not the case.

I hope women can own this variation as a wonderful sign of diversity, one of many, but I also can see how a woman would want to make her shape more typical. And add to that modern LULULEMON leggings and then I can definitely see why women would want to minimize their labia. But as has been said above, this area has nerve endings. I am not sure how much – it is the clitoris that is most innervated, but still. To fit in the leggings but lose the ability to feel extreme pleasure seems a bad, bad bargain.

You see naked women at public pools?

Labia surgery has been going on for many decades. It's very common, even expected, for actresses to have the procedure done. There's a clinic that specializes in labiaplasty a few miles from where I live.

As for camel toe leggings/pants they look like cheap crap clothing. Like the manufacturer skimped on fabric. I know a woman who makes and dyes a line of leggings that are specially constructed not to squish the vaginal region. Those leggings look super classy, really nicely and thoughtfully created.

I hate the stupid body standards placed on women. That said, it's simply an individual preference. If some woman wants to tamper with her labia she has my support in her right to choose her priorities.

In showers, of course. Not at pools themselves, but in locker rooms and showers.

I think it just goes along with the whole "image management" thing. Remaking oneself from head to toe to be more and more "perfect."

I don't understand having non-essential surgery down there

I say non-essential cause sometimes if someone is having a baby, they need help to get the baby out

Lol....more "perfect" only in their opinion. Sad people have become so obscessed with this, that they can't just accept themselves for who they are

I'm thinking of the intense competition that some women, in some vocations, have to live with.

@Beth: can you provide a link to the website with leggings specially constructed not to squish the vaginal region, please?
