My eyes were once big, but no more. I think it is a combination of age and the fact that my face has gotten bigger and rounder.
My grandmother had small but sparkling brown eyes. All her life she spoke with awe of women who had big eyes. I do not think she realized how much sparkle she had and how that more than made up for where she did not measure up size-wise. |

This subject does remind me of an old Cathy cartoon (I sure miss and loved that cartoon; I could relate to her), where she went a day without makeup. I don't recall if on purpose or not. Anyway, at work she had people saying stuff like "You look tired. Maybe you should take the rest of the day off" and "Are you feeling okay? You look a bit pale. I'll help you with that today."
Last line in the captions is "Never underestimate the power of going without makeup" as she's smiling. __________________ Call me "owl" for short! Hmmm....looks like some good tips in here. If one wears make up regularly so people are used to seeing you that way, they may not recognize you if you skip it! I'm reminded of something back in the 80's, when I had an acquaintance who wore a lot of eye makeup, heavy eyeliner and mascara that would smudge and make her look like a raccoon. (It looks good on them, but not us!) Her mom wore make up that way too.
We all volunteered at the same place. One day the acquaintance waved me down, and I thought "Who's that? I don't know her but she knows me." So I went over and said "Stephanie?!" And I was thinking, "Gosh I didn't recognize her without her eye makeup". She also looked washed out without it, because she wore so much. Over 40 years ago and I still remember how I just didn't recognize her AT ALL! __________________ Call me "owl" for short! Hmmm....looks like some good tips in here. "Okay, enough photos. So I have two dermatologists (at two different clinics in two different cities), a man and a woman. I recently saw the man and asked about taking off eye makeup. He recommended to me: Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser | Facial Cleanser | CeraVe
It does not fully remove my eye makeup. I have traces of it next morning. The thing is, even with double cleanse, first body oil and then this thing or the Vanicream cleanser, even if I do not see eye makeup when I cleanse, I sometimes have black stuff next morning. I am not doing things right, clearly. On Monday I will see my female dermatologist and will bring these cleansers to her office and ask her what I am doing wrong or whether she recommends other products. Hopefully she will be more helpful than the guy (who is a doll, but he just has never removed makeup himself, quite clearly). |

It (see below Lancome bi-facil) removes eye make up completely. I use cotton pads.

Oh, thank you. Bi-facil, it is a double cleanse embedded in one product. Wow! I will get it.

I will keep that in mind for the future. For now, I put the product onto my Amazon subscribe and save list at a $5 discount compared to the price on the manufacturer's website. That is almost 10% off, not insignificant. I will get my shipment on Sept 5 and cannot wait to use it. I will tell my dermatologist tomorrow that I am about to get it.

Yes. I received the Lancome makeup remover and it works well. Takes several cotton rounds, which is OK. I was also reassured by my female dermatologist that if a little makeup remains on the skin after I attempt to take off everything, this is not a cause for concern.

Well, depends on how much makeup you're applying when determining total time it takes to put on. I mainly focus on eyes and do quick stuff for the rest so it can take me as little as 3 minutes to put makeup on. For removal I use Estee Lauder Take It Away remover cream and it erases everything in seconds. Then I wash with a skin friendly soap. So quick on and quick off for me. Hope this info helps!

It takes me about ten minutes bc I have a routine and just decide between lips and eyes. Everything else is routine. I use serum and moisturizer with sun screen first, and then my splurge Chanel illuminating foundation. I use a tiny smidge of elf concealer under my eyes, and whatever lip stain as a blush too. I never contour etc. I usually don’t set with powder unless it’s a fancy occasion. I comb my brows up, put on eyeliner, eyeshadow, and waterproof mascara, then run out the door.

So far I have not moved beyond brow and lash mascara and even that not every day. Simply do not have time. I need a lot of sleep due to bipolar or bipolar medications or some combinations thereof. I wish I could incorporate more.

I don't blame you. The caveat of makeup, even a small amount, is removing it at bedtime. It took me an extra few minutes, esp. when I wore waterproof mascara when I was much younger. But now I'm too tired to do that and just want to wash my face/moisturize quickly and collapse into bed. Sure I got tired back then but this is 30 years later!

Literally under a minute or two. I layer on layers of mascara and just wear natural rosey colored lipstick. I get more compliments from people that way.
