My testosterone results are in and they are borderline low. Still within the normal range but very close to the bottom of the range. I am 53. I am trying to tease out if my low libido is because of psychiatric meds or because of hormone levels. Has anyone dealt with borderline low testosterone and how did you decide to proceed?

I found that when I took tribulus, my libido increased and so did my testosterone.

I can infer that females do take it, too, from the following WebMD article, which cautions against taking it if the user is pregnant or nursing:

thanks for the link. I see it may cause trouble sleeping, so it is probably not a supplement for me.

The endocrinologist wrote that my testosterone results are normal, but I have not yet reported sexual issues to her.

In terms of psych meds, moving from Latuda to its cousin AP Geodon has improved things for me, but not brought it completely back to normal.

I am fine. Can't complain about sexual issues anymore. 20 orgasms today in about 20 mins and stopped because I had to leave house. With what is called a pinpoint vibrator which looks like an elongated electric toothbrush. For me this is new as I am a latecomer in this world of sexual tech.

But clearly my sexual problems in the past were an adverse effect of Latuda, not a hormonal issue. I switched to Geodon and voila, problem solved.

What is amazing is that Laduda and Geodon are counsin medicines, but in me, Geodon, knock on wood, causes no side effects, or at least none as long as I take Gabapentin and vitamins B to ameliorate EPS.

It is not that I am not curious about trying for an even higher libido by adding testosterone exogenously, but the gynecologist told me that high testosterone as we age can cause facial hair. She said at my age she doesn't mind seeing lower testosterone. I will go with her professional judgment.
