Wahlgreen’s apparently has a problem with women’s stalls and other sexism

I am terribly for all my annoying excessive posting, but this one seems to drive me nuts. I stumbled upon a post on Reddit asking how many stalls in the women’s restroom at their local Wahlgreen’s were there, and while some were legit simple answers, others went completely off the wall:

“you have stalls?”

Duh of course! What’s the point in having a restroom when there are no stalls??

“Same thought. I’d just use the men’s when someone was taking too long in the women’s”

Women HAVE to take longer in the bathroom, we have to partially undress, wipe, and wash our hands. It seems guys assume women take too long while men view bathrooms as serious business: go and get out, because they don’t know how we work AND they barely seem to take the time to wash their hands.

“Myself and the gals I work with have used the mens restroom several times when for some reason woman can’t seem to s*** in the toilet. It’s like WTH! I walked in on it one day and it looked like they s*** through a screen! This is woman for geez. 💩🤮”

Oh dear god, I have no idea what this lady is talking about. It seems according to her that women cannot poop in men’s stalls and that women in general just have a general problem with pooping. Also why does it sound like the men’s stalls have screens covering their bowls with a small hole cut out?? That doesn’t make any sense…

“Pee in the sink if necessary, 😂 😂 just add a step ladder“

That is gross, why would anyone want to urinate in a sink?! Also girls don’t have flexible genitals so we can’t simply just pull out our vaginas and aim.

“the fact that when women are grouped together, their periods are in sync. imagine if you all were on your period. that’s terrible.

we have 2 and it’s sometimes very hard. i can’t imagine only having one stall and the reason you have to go to the bathroom, is a legit emergency.”

Periods in sync when grouped together, wtf?! How is having a menstrual cycle a terrible thing, other than the brutal cramps we get? It’s normal actually. Why are you assuming that every time women in general take too long in the bathroom, they must be on their periods? We have periods in very different days, for example if one has just started her monthly cycle, another has just finished hers.

“As someone who has crohns it gets really annoying that I don’t feel accommodated. I feel legit embarrassed that when I can’t hold it anymore I have to “sneak into” the women’s bathroom. Thankfully I have a higher set voice and can pass a woman’s voice. Petite feet, feminine step!”

The last line is just offensive. There is no feminine way to walk and also some women’s feet are larger than men’s. Also why can’t you just ask the manager to add in more stalls in the men’s room, instead of you just having to walk into the women’s room? Better yet why don’t you just ask them to add in a unisex bathroom? I understand having crohns sucks but there is no need for you to disguise yourself as a woman, aren’t there other places where you can use the bathroom though if you live in the city? It’s rude for a guy to enter the girls’ bathroom, especially since women can get chrons too and also we are more likely to have urinary tract infections.

“There is two in our bathroom there is many times I use the men’s room because the line for the women s is nonsense. Just stop with public rest rooms if a guy comes in to pee and I use the men’s room I warn them , I’m coming out cover up 🤣🤣🤣 I mean you seen one you seen them all 😂😂😂….🙄 they just come in different shapes sizes and colors 🤷🏼*♀️😂😂😂 if cooperate is reading this I mean when u gotta go ya gotta go, maybe give the employees their own bathroom, like one unisex bathroom so no customers can use it. I’m sure we would keep it clean. There would not be blood 🩸 or poop smeared on the wall. Just throwing this idea out there. There has been plenty of times I’ve had to double up gloves to clean up blood and crap. Not to mention women stick their nasty bloody pads to the walls or Toss their tampons on the floor. One person s*** on the floor I mean move back two inches and go in the porcelain pot for crying out loud. 🤦🏼*♀️🤦🏼*♀️🤦🏼*♀️🤦🏼*♀️but no one cares because we have to for customers and we are a health facility. What would happen if at cooperate someone crapped on the floor or left dirty tampons on the floor. Yeah ….. let that sink in.”

I have so many questions for this woman, if that really IS a woman… Does she have any idea that women are supposed to take longer in the bathroom because we have no choice?? She never even specified how many stalls were in the men’s room. I would assume the men’s room would have more stalls, so there IS a reason why the women’s room has longer lines. Who are you to tell a man to cover up when you were the one who made the choice to enter the men’s bathroom, and for a dumb reason? You shouldn’t even be there!

This woman also has not specified if she was an employee or not. If you are an employee why didn’t you just ask your boss or other coworkers if there could be a unisex employees only bathroom? Isn’t that the cleaner’s job to clean up the bathrooms every day? People are going to be reckless with their business and it’s gross, but it’s still their business, so why are you complaining??

Are you also assuming that periods are dirty? It is a f***ing menstrual cycle! Do those restrooms you mention not have any trash cans or bins to throw away their pads or tampons? If you do, then how many times a day are you taking out the garbage? If you’re barely taking out the garbage, there is a good reason why there are pads stuck to the wall and bloody tampons on the floor! It is not the customer’s responsibility to take out the garbage in the restroom! Also have you not considered that people who accidentally poop themselves or on the floor have diarrhea or some other bowel disease going on in them? You say you’re a health facility and “no one cares” yet you tend to blame your laziness on the customers who either cannot help themselves or are struggling with overflowing trash cans! Cleaning the bathroom is an important job to be a part of the service industry. You don’t know the customers and what they experience in the bathroom! Have you ever had people tell you or any of your coworkers that no one took out the garbage? It sounds you didn’t even mention that!

All in all, from how you sound regarding periods and feminine hygiene dirty, I doubt you actually are a woman.

“My store only had one stall for the women’s restroom and we raised enough hell for them to put a lock on it. Ask your SM or DM if y’all can get a lock on the restroom.”

Oh dear lord, how many stalls are in the men’s room? If there is such a huge ruckus in the women’s restroom over one stall, the problem shouldn’t be to get a lock, it should be instead to add more stalls in the women’s room!

“It’s 2023. They should be installing urinals. So just like the boys room one stall one urinal”

What’s the use of having a urinal in the girls’ room? It would be useless and a waste of space.

“I closed my restrooms to be employees only. F*** the customers! Some states don’t require public restrooms. North Carolina is one of them so I closed mine down for just employees. Yeah we get a lot of hate from customers but they will f***ing get over it !”

Jesus, how sadistic can you be?! This is also a d*** move because what you have just committed is discrimination! It is classist behavior because there are lower class citizens who have very little access to travel and basic needs like going to the bathroom and it is disgusting! Also telling lower classed people to get over it is disgusting and heartless!

I stumbled upon another Reddit post saying why are women’s restrooms gross compared to men’s:

“It seems to me that part of the problem stems from the frequency women have to use the restroom coupled with the fact a lot of them squat over the toilet and bring children along with them as well. Although these things definitely contribute to the messiness, it’s not sufficient imo to explain it all away. For example, if s*** is ever smeared on the walls 8/10 it’s the women’s restroom. If I grant that women are s****ing 4x as much as men in public restrooms it still wouldn’t be proportional. It also doesn’t explain them throwing their hygiene products in the toilet.”

Does he not even realize that the poop “smeared” on the wall is not from women but from their babies? Women also have to squat due to urine on the seat since women’s toilets require them to poop AND pee. We also have periods to worry about so of course we’re going to have to poop more during our menstrual cycle. I also find it weird how he thinks tampons being thrown in the toilet is unreasonable, he’s the f***ing janitor, isn’t he? Are there any trash bins where women can throw away their tampons? If there aren’t, why should he be surprised?

I also hate the assumption that people are gross and don’t care as long as they’re not the ones cleaning up. Of course we care! It’s the employees’ job to clean the bathrooms so people can use them. Dude, peeing and pooping is a basic need, menstrual cycles are also normal for women (though not all women have them in their lifetime).

What is the point of labeling basic needs as gross, even IF they are, and demonizing them as taboo when they are normal? We are just as gross as men but why is it that we are expected to hide it so guys and people in general will like us more? We are just as human. Just leave us be.
