Hello, I am new here. I'm desperately looking for someone, anyone, somewhere who understands the severe sexism that women face every day, all the time, all around us. I feel like I've lost my mind and I'm worthless because that's the message I'm getting from society. I lost my identity, confidence, self-esteem, worth, and my grip on reality. I'm not even sure this made sense. Sorry

@Chi Xi I hear you that sexism is a big problem in the world we live in and I am sorry this affects you so deeply. The good news is that some people find an identity that is free of that and free of the reaction to that.

The Definition: "Sexism is prejudice or discrimination based on one's sex or gender." This has been going on for thousands of years. It is a problem that goes back deep into the patterns instilled by society. It is possible to find a way to not be subjected to these forces and live a life where we do not react to other' short sightedness.

This is a societal level issue even though it is individuals that are caught up in it.

There’s definitely sexism out there. No doubt. Along with racism and other bigotry etc

But I don’t think I am worthless and i am not really getting such message from society. Could you share what exactly makes you feel worthless being a woman?

I think I do understand. We live in a patriarchal society and women are dismissed or viewed as sex objects.

I was raised this way, and I'm still trying to reprogram myself.

One thing that helped me was to eliminate TV entirely.

What are you listening to or watching when you get the message from society that you're worthless?

Or are you at your workplace or in a relationship when you have this feeling?
