I don't know if this is wishful thinking on my part or what...

As of yesterday, I am 37 weeks - full term. Today my body is feeling different - the baby is moving a lot, but mostly below my belly button - I guess it's her shoulders or elbows, but not so much above my belly button, where it was usually her feet and knees.

I'm also starting to feel a little crampy, and some of her movements are hurting (not in a bad way; just different) in my pelvic area. A little like I'm getting my period. No mucus plug yet and I've never really been sure about Braxton-Hicks contractions - I might be having them, but the tightness is only really noticeable if I'm sitting still and paying attention.

As of Thursday, my cervix had softened but I wasn't dilated yet.

Who knows? I guess it can't be more than 5 weeks away at most, and it could be a couple of days at least, right?

This is so exciting!

Well, I am not going to guess about time as number one dropped at 7 months and was anterior so I felt it a lot. It is nearing though and you will be feeling more of the crampiness. I wonder if you want to get things moving you could try sex, brisk walking, bumpy roads, all of the classics. It is all wonderful and I am excited for you.

Wow - how freaky that it could happen within a week! I'm not sure that the reality has sunk in yet!!!!!!!

I WISH we could try sex! But that's another topic (I posted about it in this forum a week or two ago...)

walk around alot...gravity helps.

it's almost time! sometimes waiting can be tedious, i know.

i was two weeks over due both of my pregnacies and had to be induced, they never wanted to come out.

hopefully things will just go naturally for you, it's a smoothier labor.

Congrats! Those last few weeks can get so...fun. Waiting and waiting...

Yeah I think it sounds like the baby dropped. Exciting!

My baby was a week late. But we went to Chili's the night before she was born so maybe the spicy food did it! Who knows. They also say raspberry tea helps, or if you're really desperate...castor oil!

Good luck! I hope you have an easy delivery and a healthy baby!

3am!!!!!! You aren't going to let me sleep a little? How about 3pm!

But at least you're guessing early - I like early. I like tomorrow as a delivery date! But my vote in the pool is:

May 5, 7pm

Update:
STILL not dilated, but my cervix is very soft so my OB said it could start opening any day now. She did say that the baby is posterior (yay) and while I was there, my belly was very lopsided and the doctor said that it was the baby's butt that was pushing out. I have dropped about as much as I'm going to, I think.

Oh, and she said that the baby isn't going to be on the small side - she expects somewhere between 7.5-8.5 pounds. Not into the 9+ range, fortunately!
