Well my husband managed to behave well for a whole day on my birthday last Friday.

Today when I was talking about trading our pick-up truck in on something smaller, he said, "Maybe we should go our separate ways." My friend has given me a good comeback if he should say this again.

After dinner he threw his plate across the room, and it broke. It is one of four plates that I really loved. This was prompted by the dog, he insisted on rescuing (who broke my ankle last year), trying to eat one of our cats. Last night right after dinner she tried to eat Little Bear, my oldest and dearest cat.

We are going to increase her tranquilizer dosage, so she doesn't try to eat any more cats.

ACK!!!! Your husband needs to be smacked, sorry. I'd happy to be of service if I wasn't so far. Husbands, trucks and temper tantrums - post-birthday blues

The dog is weird. What kind/how old is it?

((((((((((((((EJ))))))))))))))))) Your husband sounds like an irritable grump, but I'm glad he at least behaved himself on your birthday. That's a start at least. Husbands, trucks and temper tantrums - post-birthday blues

Happy belated birthday too my friend. You're loved Husbands, trucks and temper tantrums - post-birthday blues

{{{{{{{{{{EJ}}}}}}}}}}} I am so sorry that your husband acted this way. Heaven knows that I have no good days with mine.

And I'm sorry about your dog. What kind is it? I hope she leaves the poor cats alone.

Mary Alice,

We rescued her, when we had two other St. Bernards, a Great Dane, and a small German Shepherd, and a small, black sweet mutt. Missy has less the the typical St. Bernard markings, and is very strong and quick.

Wishing you a good week~

Love,

EJ

Christina,

The last dog we rescued was a St. Bernard. She was not socialized or trained until she came to our home. I think she was almost two years old when we got her. I definitely did not want her since we already had 5 dogs, 6 cats, 2 horses and 2 steers. Anyway she has been a real handful. She is a very pretty dog, and can be as good as pie.

Love,

Jane

Hi Planning to Survive,

Missy, a St. Bernard Mix, usually doesn't try to eat the cats. However, being able to lick our plates after we were done eating was at stake. My husband started this bad habit. We will up her tranquilizers tomorrow, and we should all be safe. Husbands, trucks and temper tantrums - post-birthday blues

Love,

(((((((((((EJ))))))))))))))))) is this the same dog that is always running off after the cattle and into the field? Sounds like a bundle full of energy... which may not necessarily be the best thing if you've got so many animals as is!

I hope your husband apologizes for his behaviour.

Hi Christina,

The one that was always running off and into my neighbor's field to herd his cattle got hit by a car.

The dog who almost ate Little Bear on Monday, and Mo on Tuesday, is Missy, who broke my ankle May 2007. I didn't want the dog. She is a St. Bernard mix, and is definitely high energy, especially since she has come here, and has been getting good food.

She received no socialization or training until she came here at age 1-1/2 years old. She is SO bonded with us at this point, I don't think I can adopt her out to anybody else.

Anyway husband is back in charge of giving Missy her meds, and he has gone to the vet to pick-up pill pockets. I pointed out to my husband last night that it was our fault for not giving Missy her meds as promptly as we had been.

Thank you for your care and concern ~
