I am taking antibiotics for PID, which PID has a known side effect of irregular bleeding. Maybe its just a coincidence, but I havent had a real period for 1 1/2 years (when I started depo), and my last depo shot was in January. Doc said it could take up to a year before my period came back, and starting yesterday and today being the revenge. I think my period is mad that it came out of hibernation, because ooooh these cramps are wicked and I have already destrpyed 2 pairs of underwear. Ive always had heavy periods, I forgot how unpredictable they are.

I am sorry you are having such a bad period. I remember when my periods got so bad. Heck I never knew when I was going to start. I would go 2 weeks and start again. So glad I don't have that problem anymore

I don't have the $$ to go back on bc (im at my max allowance for perscripts and doc visits with my insurance), and my cardiologyst said I have a "fatty liver" and it could have been due to the bc. Either way, I had been so long without my period it is a major rude awakening to all of a sudden have a hard big flow after not having a real period for years. I think it needs to go back into hibernation.

I hear ya!
I can still remember the first period I had when I got off my depo shot - it felt like i was getting my butt kicked to make up for all the lost years. It DID take a while before my body settled back into a more normal/reasonable pattern. Not much I can offer for comfort...But you aren't alone in this one. You have my best wishes and complete sympathy! __________________ They don't ever lock ya up for thinking crazy - they only get ya for actin' crazy! Kendyll, yes that is what it feels like, you understand! Ruined underwear count is up to 4. You can never get those stains out, so i just keep throwing them away!

for the stains, try running COLD water through from the opposite side, this should rinse a large portion out, then use body soap to scrub the rest. doesn't always work, but has saved a few pairs for me.

I soak mine in cold water with a stain remover, at least overnight. Then wash in cold water. The stains come out fairly well. Do not use warm or hot water, as it will set the stains. Also, when you start your period, try to use colored undies. I have some deep purple ones that are perfect for this. Then if there is a little bit of stain that doesn't come out, it will not show.

thanks for the advice!!! I had not had a period to control for so long, I kind of forgot how to protect my clothing, lol!! Those are some really suggestions, I think I'll buy some black and purple undies!!!
Finally off the period, I survived!! 8 days total. I would say 5 days were very heavy. UNTIL NEXT MONTH!!!! __________________ Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep.
