I wonder if I have this problem...every time I have been admitted into the psych hospital after a meltdown was before my period. Does this happen to anyone else, and how can I prevent this from happening in the future. Is there medication effective in treating this? Should I change my diet?

I got told I had pmdd (which was wrongly diagnosed, turns out it's something else) but they put me on the pill to help. It's not a very common thing in the UK so I researched it and apparently a lot of docs know about it on the US. Anyway, I found this website useful: http://pmdd.factsforhealth.org/
there's info about treatment on there and there are also some 'real life stories' from women who have PMDD. Molly

I have suffered from PMDD for years and I now I owe my life to Celexa - this medication has given me my life back and I am no longer suicidal one week out of every month... please talk to your doctor about Celexa or even Sarafem, both work great for PMDD.
I take 20 mg once a day - and 20 mg twice a day during my period. |
