Okay. I was seeing someone and we were sexually active.. dumbly without condoms, trusting the old pull out in time method.

I was on the pill but had just started it. Shortly after the pills screwed me up and i had a month long period. The doc had to give me HRT in order to get it to stop.

So now i havent had a period in almost two months. And the doc asks might i be pregnant. Well, i suppose i could be?? But doesnt it seem odd that i would period type bleed for four weeks and still be pregnant?

I have to wait to get a test on the 26th and will know for sure then but i just cant see how as i havent had sex since before the bleeding.

Thoughts?

sometimes people menstruate once they have conceived. it is surely possible.

i guess it doesn't really help you now, but the withdrawal method is not safe. not as birth control and certainly not as STD control.

oh boy do i know this. It was a stupid stupid move on my part. i was relying on the BC to keep me from getting pregnant. I shouldnt have.

I guess all I can do now is wait and pray. I wouldnt terminate, i would keep the child, but i certainly didnt want another this soon.

Oh boy the mess i might be in.

Could you buy a pregnancy test from the chemist, and then find out either way. The not knowing must be awful.

how long were you on the pill at the time? people say different things but even after 5-7 days there is supposedly some protection, depending when you started. i think the odds are probably against you being pregnant, but yeah it's possible. some people do still have bleeding when pregnant, pulling out is indeed not reliable, etc, all stuff you know.

i would guess it's more likely the various hormones have just screwed up your cycle. but if you plan to keep it (if it exists) i wouldn't take any chances just yet.

i hope you get the answer you want

yes, a releif.. with maybe just a touch of sadness for the baby fever I always have. But I REALLY don't need another child right yet, I need to work through a bunch of issues before I even think about that.

Still no period! Not even a sign of it. Considering that I want about 3-4 more children someday, Im very concerned. I'm going to bring it up to my physician tomorrow when i go for my refills. Its concerning to say the least. Im hoping that it just ends up being a case of being screwed up by the BC pill.

Rain

My period has never been regular, but after my daughter (child 2 of 4) was born I did not have it for over a year. I was not breast feeding so they ran a battery of tests and could not find anything wrong.

My OB/GYN was very concerned about this so he tried to shock my system into working. Since I am unable to take the pill I would go into his office for a shot to start my period, but then the stupid thing wouldn't quit, so I'd have to go back in for another to stop it! Needless to say that didn't last for more than a few months.

Let the doc know that you're having issues so they can make sure it's nothing serious.

Well not to scare you, but when I was pregnant with my first son, I had what I thought were very light periods for 2 months. I was also on the pill and I thought I was just having messed up periods b/c of the orthotricyclin. But my mom told me to take a pregnancy test and it was pos.
