This Saturday is my cousin's 21st and I have a cute LBD that I really wanna wear... but I want to wear tights (don't want to go bare legged... too cold is one reason!)
I've just tried it on with some plain black opaque tights... but I think the tights are too dark?
I'll put some pictures up of my dress (and my fave shoes to get your opinion if they'd look good)... but for now has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks ,
Molly

Just tried it with 'normal/opaque' tights and it looks ok... I'm not sure... I'm gonna put some photos on

yeah i think black tights with a black dress... i mean it's not a disaster or anything, but it would look more like a dance costume or something. i think you would normally wear normal colored ones.

these days people don't even wear hose anymore, do they. it seems strange to me. i was wearing hose with skirts in the fifth grade. but yeah i hear you about the cold.

Why opaque tights?
Why not sheer/semi-sheer black nylons?

I agree. You don't want every part of you covered in black! Semi sheer will show some skin and that'll look hott.

that''s what I mean... did I get it the wrong way around (and here's me the artist... never known what opaque meant) the black tights I have show skin colour through... but I still think they're a bit dark for the type of dress it is (maybe I can get some that aren't as dark? I'll try and find some
But over here it's in fashion now, don't really wanna wear fishnet with it because that'll give wrong message I guess (the dress is very flattering already)

would red shoes be too much with a black dress? (lol... sooooo not good at this, ages since I've been out and I get really anxious )

I would say no to red shoes with black hose or tights. Red shoes would be okay with red accessories and flesh-toned hose. Generally (IMO) shoes should be darker than hose or it looks strange. The exception is white shoes which are lighter than flesh.....those are okay only with flesh toned hose or with white hose (if you are in a nursing uniform!).

ive wanted to get them for ages but they font have wide fit ive been blessed to be "slim" 'cept i look like ive got skiis for feet

so try the lbd with shoes like those? and tights and then accessorise with black and silver jewlery! =]
just dont add gold if your wearing silver... it looks tacky with black anyway :[

So where's the pic of the dress? I'm an old lady and don't know what an LBD is.

Molly,
Be daring and go with a pair of really bright color tights maybe hot pink or electric blue! Turn some heads and show of your legs. I have a really cute LBD and I went with bright tights and it looked great. I wouldnt go with nude color that was so 2 seasons ago. Why opaques? They make your legs look longer! What shows are you going to wear?
