I'm trying to find answers and I'm wondering if anyone here can help.
My first question is about makeup. I would like to find help with picking out colors for myself. I always wear browns and I like browns but on occasion I do get tired of browns. So where can I go to get help with picking colors out for myself? Second question, My teeth are kind of yellow and I brush like I should but they are still yellow. It bothers me. I also want to know what you use to help fight gingivitis. Is there any product that you use that works well for whitening your teeth? Do you use a certain toothbrush that helps? Yes, I know i can go to the dentist but I've been told that costs alot and I don't have alot to spend. I've been told to get the oralb 9400 triumph electric toothbrush or the soniccare flexcare because they both help with teeth whitening and gingivitis. The thing is that they are alot of money. I can get on ebay and buy them online for alot cheaper but I don't want to buy something that doesn't work. So what do you use for these problems? Third question, what guide do you use for plucking, waxing your eyebrows? My eyebrows are crazy. I don't really know what to do with them. Do you go to someone like a salon to have yours done? Last question is, what do you do to lose weight? I'm trying to lose weight and I'm not real sure what to do. Yes, I know that I need to exercise but what kinds of food to I eat. When do I eat? How many times a day do I eat? I know these are a lot of questions but I don't have anyone else to ask. as my mom is no help. |

If there are any stores in your area with a makeup counter, you know the expensive kind. I know it sounds a bit evil but you could go in there and they will probably try different shades on you, then go to a cheaper place and buy similar shades. Another idea is to contact your local avon salesperson, I think that they can help you with the right shades for you. Eyebrows, I have decided that this is something best left to professionals because recently I did a really bad job at waxing my eyebrows, it really is a mess trust me on this. I am not very good at weight loss but from what I have heard it is best to eat small healthy things several times a day, sorry I can't be of much help. I don't put much effort into my looks, probably because I have been married almost 11 years and have stopped caring. __________________ Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! I like browns as my "main" thing to wear all the time as well, my suggestion is to look on google or a similar search engine and type in something like "eye shadows for blue eyes" or "eye shadow for hazel eyes" and you might find colors that compliment your eyecolor.
The weight question.... Um I have yet to find the right answer for that myself, Um, I guess "motivation" is the biggest key to that actually. And lastly, your yellow teeth (i have them too)... I hate brushing my teeth (but luckily i have healthy teeth regardless), just discolored. The quickest way to get your teeth white is to brush twice a day with a white vinigar/baking soda/hydrogen peroxide mix. You just take the 3 ingredients (or even baking soda/peroxide only) and mix them together to make a paste, and brush your teeth with it. Yes it tastes NASTY (but for me, it takes better than mint, thats the toothpaste i hate), but it really does work, but the important thing is to actually do it, and not get lazy. Also another tip is, if you cannot brush after a meal, rinse really well with plain old WATER. Brush before bed, so you get all that crap off of your teeth, (sugar, etc). Now I just need to follow my own advice! __________________ Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. 1. The colors depend on your skin tone, eye color and hair color.
Brown eyes: copper, bronze, apricot, beige, brown and shades of green. Green eyes: brown, apricot, gold, shades of green, purple/plum Blue eyes: gray, pink, brown, violet, apricot, greens, deep blue, silver, turqoise, black I have blue eyes, blond hair and a very light skintone with pink and yellow undertones, typical scandinavian. My regular (day time) eye makeup is: Light gold shimmer all over lid, apricot on lid, a green-gray shimmery tone from crease and up, dark brown in crease, blue eyeliner on lash-line, black liquid eyeliner for cat-eyes, white eyeliner on wetline but black eyeliner in the outer corner, black mascara finished off with a layer of blue mascara. Yeah, I complicate things. But boy does my makeup look fab! The only thing I change from day to night is that I add more of that green-gray shimmer tone to smoke things up, and I use black eyeliner on the wetline. 2. You can use whitening toothpaste, and I suggest you get an electric toothbrush (I have an oralb, but I don't remember exactly which model). Before you settle for bleaching, go to your dentist and have him polish your teeth. They use this sand-like thing and a rubber head on the drill, and they polish off any plaque and such that can come off. Most of miscoloring is just plaque that won't come off. When you've done that, you can try Crest whitening strips, or a home teeth bleaching kit. But bleaching your teeth really damages your enamel, so don't over-do it. I've been drinking coffee and smoking since I was 14, and my teeth are white. Btw, no one have hollywood-white teeth unless they get veneers. Gingivitis: FLOSS. FLOSS, FLOSS, AND FLOSS SOME MORE. And use Listerine, you can also use Corsodyl but if you use it for a long period (3 weeks would be long), you can get fungile in your mouth. Happened to a friend of mine, nasty stuff. 3. Eyebrows: I pluck em myself. Use a white eyeliner to mark below the brow what you're going to pluck, and NEVER pluck above the eyebrow. I did that once years ago, and now I look retarded and I have to apply makeup above the brow. Going to a salon is a good idea if you've never shaped your brows before, and after that you can do the maintenance yourself. 4. Cut out carbs. Carbs = energy without nutrition, it's pretty much useless for your body and you might as well be munching sugarcubes. Bread = sugar. Whole grain is only good for you because of the fiber, but you can take fiber supplements instead of that. Use fructose instead of sucrose if you are going to use sugar, for example in your tea or coffee. Eat proteins and fats, avoid carbohydrates and starch (potatoes, rice, beans, pasta, broccoli, etc). Eat a small meal every 3-4 hours and try to get some form of exercise done, even if it's just 20 squats in the morning; everything helps. Drink water when you're thirsty, not pop or ice tea or juice etc. Your breakfast should be high in protein, since your body is eating away at your muscles and not your fat in the morning. The "eat every 3-4 hours" thing is because your body slows down your metabolism after 3 hours, if you eat something (an apple for example) every 3 hours, it will keep your metabolism up and running. When the metabolism slows down, your body stops using your fatty deposits (which is caused mostly by eating carbs fyi) for energy and starts burning your muscles. Without proteins, your muscles will deteriorate (your heart is a muscle). Muscles also increase your metabolism, so the more musclemass you have - the more fat you burn off. Muscles also make you carry your weight a whole lot better. According to people, I look 25lbs thinner than I actually am - just cos of my musclemass. I highly suggest a ketogenic or low carb diet. You won't have to focus on calories, and you get to eat a lot of things that we're taught is bad for us lol. Snacking on bacon, oh my. I lost 20lbs in 1-2 months on a ketogenic diet. My mother lost 50lbs when she was on Atkins back in her days. It's the only diet I've tried that actually works. |

I would suggest.... 1. makeup - you could go to the mall and ask one of the girls at any of the makeup counters to give you some suggestions. Usually, they sit you down and show you how to apply it and what shades work best for your skin tone. They will probably want you to buy ALL the products but you don't have to. Buy an eyeshadow if you really like it or a lipstick and say no to everything else. If you don't want to do that go to the library and find makeup books there. They will tell you about shades best for your skin tone and how and where to appy. I like this book... Makeup Makeovers: Expert Secrets for Stunning Transformations by Robert Jones. 2. teeth whitening - I actually buy professional strengh teeth whitening kits on EBay. (shhhh!) They are really, really reasonable there. 3. eyebrows - I would go to a manicure/pedicure salon. They are on every corner! (Doesn't have to be the high priced fancy salon) All most all of them do waxing. Ask for an eyebrow wax and when the person is prepping you tell her you just want them cleaned up, nothing to thin or arched (unless that is what you want). Once you get them cleaned up at the salon it's easy to keep the shape by plucking or tweezing the new growth. I wax my brows about every two months and tweeze in between. 4. weight loss - Keep it healthy. Lean meats, grilled chicken, fish. Lots of veggies and whole grain wheat (nothing enriched) for breads, rice or pastas. Eat breakfast! Eat fruit and veggies for snacks. Drink lots and lots of water. And start walking. ~Christy |
