I know this may sound like a stupid question but I need someone to answer the question I have.
I have a visa check card through my bank. On the card it says debit above the visa symbol. I used it at walmart and it asked for my pin number which is okay. My problem is, I would like to use it at restraunts but I'm wondering if I can or not since the last time I used it it asked for a pin number. Can I use it at a restraunt and just sign the receipt or is a pin number always required to use it? I'm new to the whole check card and I've called the bank but they are closed today. I know that this isn't necessarily just a womens issue but I didn't know where else to put it. Please help.

Yep, you can even use it as a credit card at Wal-Mart and such. Just tell them there is no pin, to use as credit card. You'll have to sign for it just like a credit card. It's very useful for restaurants and such. I never ever use the pin for mine.

So like when I go to walmart instead of typing in my pin tell the cashier there is no pin and to use it has a credit card and then sign for it?

Yes, just tell them to do it as credit. It works that way.

If your walmart is like ours, you do it yourself and just click the credit button instead of debit. I have no clue what my pin even is.

you might want to always run it as credit anyways. i know my bank, at least, charges me a foreign atm fee when I use it as a debit card so I always ask them to run it as credit.
