Okay...it feels odd to say this, but lately my vagina has been wet. Not period blood or pee but a kind of clear secretion. Am I the only one? I've never heard of this before, am I in trouble?

Clear secretion is normal and you should only be concerned if the secretion is bloody, turns color "yellow or brownish" or has a foul smell to it.

I think it's supposed to clean it, well that's what I heard anyway.
That's why it happens - I don't know if that's right though

I get that all the time, it is nothing to worry about, compleltly natural as long as it doesn't smell werid, or is a funny color.

Usually clear anything means not much of a concern (vagina juices clear is good, and other colors could be a concern), same with snot, clear snot is fine, but if its other colors, you probably have a cold.

Sounds absolutely normal. If the discharge is slick -- sort of like saliva -- no problem. If the discharge is sticky, foul-smelling, I would say that you should see you D to check for vaginal infection. Possibly you are sexually excited, not necessarily sexually active. Perfectly normal and absolutely nothing to be concerned about. Used to happen to me years ago when I was much, much, younger. |

I sure hope it's normal, because it happens to me all the time. Ahahaha XD

Normal for me, too. Also, your discharge can change in texture and odor during the month...it's all part of your cycle. As everyone said, you need only concern yourself if it's not clear, although a slight yellowishness is also normal, according to the gynecologists I've seen on TV.

I actually took a "how to" course on vaginal secretions once. I know it sounds strange, but it was to learn about your mucus as a barometer of fertility. The mucus/secretions change through the cycle, and you can know your absolute most fertile days by the type of mucus. I learned to be able to tell within a few days what part of the cycle I was in just by looking at and feeling a bit of the mucus. This was very useful in getting pregnant as I was living far away from my partner and we needed to be able to time our visits perfectly to aid in conception. There's this one test where you put a bit of the mucus between your thumb and finger and draw them apart. The most fertile fucus does not break and makes a longish strand between your thumb and finger. Non-fertile mucus tends to not stretch at all or only make a short strand. The mucus helps determine fertility because its character can aid or hinder/block sperm on their journey.
