Im on the pill and im meant to have my period at the moment but it hasnt come. This is my 6th day taking the placebo pills and usually i get them after taking 2. Even if i miss one or two of the active pills i will start to get my period. I have skipped my period for the last 2months so i was expecting a slightly heavy bleed but basically ive had nothing. The most i got was a slight bit of diluted looking blood tonight when i went to the bathroom, i had to look closely at it and it was just a slight tinge of pink. I feel very bloated, my breasts are a little sore and ive been getting mild cramping, all the usual signs that my period should be here but unfortunately these can also be signs of pregnancy. I just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else and should i be worried? Also i missed a couple of my active tablets a couple of times in the last 2 months and had sex, but i didnt have regular sex it was just a few times

Have you taken a pregnancy test? I can't help but think you are pregnant. Go get one of those tests (you can get some store-branders that are just as accurate as name-brand) that have more than one in there and take them.
Are you alone or something and afraid? I hope not, but if you are you can email me and we can talk.
I wish you the best, and hope you find out exactly. I had a friend who went through the same thing and took one of my tests. She was really upset at first, but now her daughter will be 5 this year and she cannot imagine her life without her.
Take care!

hi rachie,

the only way to be sure is to get a pregnancy test. it is possible you're pregnant, but it's not 100% that you are.

i havent been on the pill myself, but i do know a few ppl who have had their menstrual pattern change whilst on it. sometimes disappearing for 6 months, even though they took placebo.

so that is another thing to keep in mind.

if your pregnancy test comes back negative, and you still don't have your period - please go to your doctor and get it checked out! the pill is a funny thing and act weirdly sometimes, and it's better to know what's going on.

much love and safe hugs,
xo deli

I agree. You should go to the doctor regardless, as your dosage could be too low or high.
XOXO

Thanx i appreciate it =) just another quick question if any of you have more than one child, when you first fell pregnant were your pregnancies similar at all? By that i mean did you get morning sickness or anything or turned off certain foods etc

I've been having similar things happen to me during this last year, and I have an IUD. I missed a few periods and my breasts swelled ridicoulsy. But I wasn't pregnant, thank goodness. I have enough kids. Anyway, just take a test and find out, there's no harm in being safe. There's always a possibilty that missing one pill can result in a pregnacy, I got pregnant with my daughter 8 weeks after I had my son, because I missed ONE pill. It can happen.

I agree..............

BTW - I have been up to two weeks later before.... so being late does happen without being pregnant.

Wel i done a test today and it came back negative. I still havent got my period and i dont think theres any sign of them coming. I still think i might be, i prob should have waited to do the test in the morning but i couldnt wait any longer. I now feel like im getting a cold i have alot of phlegm, a headache and just feel really crappy and tired. Also ive been getting alot more mucous down there but i dont know if that means my period is coming. Im actually a bit disappointed that the test came up as negative =(

i'm such a sook when i'm sick, so i'm right there besides you and sulking .

good luck with the dr's tomorrow. please bring up the late period thingy - it'll set your mind at ease. i brought it up with my pdoc (of all people ) but he was able to explain what was going on, and it helped a lot.

mine wasn't pill related (have never been on the pill) but it all of a sudden went from clockwork to erratic - 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 2 weeks, 8 weeks etc. i never knew when it was coming next.

pdoc said that sometimes if you've gone through a lot of stress, the makeup in your body changes and it can really put the timing of your period off. i was bloated the whole damned time, though!! not happy!!

he did throw in some technical stuff, like names of chemicals(?) or something, and i went home and looked it up and it all made sense, but i've promptly forgotten it all, i'm afraid .

but sending much sympathy your way!! if you are bloated and feeling crummy and your periods arent cooperating and arriving already that you have a darned good reason to complain!!!

Very interesting! The only time my period was irregular was when i was 13 and first got them. I had to go on the pill to fix them cos they were extremely heavy and lasted at least 2wks but after going on the pill my period would arrive like clock work (was only on pill for 3moths) then went on the pill again at 15 or 16 to clear up acne and that was for 4 months then went on pill over 2yrs ago after i had my son and whenever its been time for a period on the pill its always arrived on time, and like i said in my first post if i miss a pill or two ill start to bleed so it really has me stumped whats going on!

My period was late due to hormonal imbalance.... medicine helped to regulate it.

Well not pregnant and doc just said that because i stuffed up my pill thats most likely the cause of the missed period. Also he told me i done the right thing by stopping my zoloft due to the hallucinations, ive been off it for 2wks and i havent had any withdrawel that i know of, actually ive been more happy than usual but dont know if thats a withdrawel symptom. Last wk i felt like taking all my meds but that went away and thats when i turned overly happy. Doc just said if i start having problems or my depression comes back then to see him straight away. Im sorry if that didnt make sense i just realised that i was rambling an awful lot lol oh and ive just got a throat infection
