Vaginas!!

Hello Ladies

Am I the only woman that thinks vaginas are ugly or not nice to look at?

I don't know, I've never seen mine.

*TRIGGER Warning* Sexuality is mentioned, as is sexual orientation, and well let's face it, this post is also about sex organs.

A lot of women seem to dislike the look of female genitalia, and a lot of men tend to dislike the look of male genitalia, from what I have noticed, but perhaps this isn't true. I mean, I've never done an official survey. Anyway, I personally think they both look beautiful. But the term "bumping uglies" is one euphamism for having sex, so that tells me that apparently there was a fair deal of people who found both sets of genitalia (male and female) ugly. I sometimes wonder if part of the reason for this, is that we are taught sex is dirty, that those parts of our bodies are dirty, and also perhaps, has something to do with people thinking, appreciating the sexual parts of their own gender, asthetically speaking, makes them homosexual, since some people are scared to come across that way, even to themselves. If it's not taught in some round about way, at least, I wonder if it's instinctive to dislike the genitalia of your own gender, since the sexuality of other members of your gender (assuming you are heterosexual) means competition for you in finding and keeping a monogamous mate.

I'm 110% heterosexual. I just think vaginas are ugly and so are penises...although they are pleasurable.

i remember my friend's older sister telling me in yr 7 that we should be happy because ours are all neat and tucked away, unlike the guys.

i think they are gross (not necessarily ugly, just icky) but i am relieved that ours don't hang out everywhere.

i must be the strange apple in the basket then because I think they are beautiful and full of excitement.....

I will have to agree I am so happy that my genitals do not hang out like men's gentials do...thank god!!

I dunno, how much time does anyone spend actually looking at them? And whether a person likes the look of hers or not, I don't see a lot of practical options for, um, redecorating. And it's waaaaay down the list of things I expect to be judged for anyway; for all practical purposes "simply having one" is sufficient to appeal to the male folk.

The way I see it, I didn't choose my body or the configuration of its various bits and pieces, it's just the one I happened to get. Yeah, the green eyes are neat, especially the right one that can't decide whether it would really rather be brown (right now green is winning by a ratio of 2:1), and the wide shoulders and skinny hips make me look funny in "girl" clothes, but I don't obsess about it.

I think both vaginas and penis' are odd looking things...i also the the word vagina is a funny word, it just sounds silly when u say it alot, same with the word fork lol

I don't think they're very pleasant looking at all, but then again they're there for a purpose.
I guess, if we didn't wear clothes people would think of 'them' in a different way. But, like Locust said, we're told from a young age that it's our 'special/dirty/private' place. It's kind of driven into our minds I guess.
Is it safe to start the whole 'women's lives are more difficult than men's' conversation?
If most women don't like vaginas, why do we spend so long trying to make them look 'tidier'. Yeh it's nice to look as best we can... but the effort! And pain! Grrrrr to men. They have it too easy

im always worried that mine looks weird? i mean, ive never sat around and compared vaginas with other girls so, as far as i know, my vagina could be hideously disfigured and i prob wouldnt know lol. i dont think vaginas are all that nice to look at but theyre a hell of a lot nicer than that veiny porksword men carry around! lol

Is it just me or do others think that labia are weird or gross looking. Yes, I know that there are 2 sets of labia....outer and inner. I am talking about the inner labia..pink ones near where the urine comes out. I look at mine and I wonder what if mine are too large......what does my family doctor think when I get a pelvic exam?

I think vaginas are wonderful and wonderous and being a woman is the biggest blessing ever.

I love vaginas and especially my own. It took me awhile to accept that because I used to think vaginas were ugly but I met a great guy who built my self esteem.

And yes you can decorate them. You can be quite creative in hair patterns (which can also improve sensitivity ). And I love pretty panties. My boyfriend and I would take turns wearing them. Oh the memories...

Uh if I pass the boundaries of TMI just ignore me. It did sound like a fun subject though.

Hair patterns? Wow, would not have thought of that. I've heard of piercings too... I wouldn't consider that.

I'm indifferent about that body part. To me, acne is much grosser. I hate acne. Vaginae are just... skin... and hair... and secretions... but we get secretions all over - sweat/oily shine... and shedding skin/hair... and then there's the nose/mouth... all just part of the body.

Does anyone know what the purpose of pubic hair is? Ive always been curious about that...

I think vaginas are both beautiful and weird, and the same for penises. Also, sexy for both, too. Although, in truth, let's get the terminology right:

The VULVA is the entire area "down there," the vagina, the inner lips, outer lips, clitoris, clitoral hood, and all those goodies. (The outer lips are known as the "labia majora.")

The VAGINA is the inside of the vaginal, or inner, lips. (The inner lips are also known as the "labia minora.")

You should look at your vulva, get to know it, understand it. It's really important to know all of your body (and what goes in and out of it--yes, that includes poop). Your health and knowing what's normal and not for you is important.

As for vulvas, and what's normal or not in how it looks, don't get too freaked out if yours is different from another's. Some vulvas are smaller, bigger, fatter. Some vaginal lips are longer, uneven, or shorter. (If your lips are so long that they cause discomfort or pain when a man or sex toy enters you, there is surgery that can help.) The lips may be lighter or darker than another woman's, pinker or purpler (see? I made up a word, LOL!). You might have more hair naturally or less. Like penises, vulvas and vaginas come in all shapes and sizes.

As for decorating, you can style the hair (depending how long it is), dye it, trim it into shapes, shave it off completely, tattoo the area (OUCH!), pierce the clitoris (OUCHOUCHOUCH!) or vaginal lips (EEK!), and I'm sure there are other ideas you can come up with.

I recently heard a name for the vagina that I think is very cute: "Penis cozy."
