I worked at a job that I liked for about 15 years but I lost it due to the economy. I can't collect unemployment. I haven't started looking much yet but I know jobs in my field are scarce. I just want to work part-time and it's more for self-esteem though the money helps too, of course.

I feel really depressed about this. There was a chance for a job I wanted but I found out today that the position is filled. I don't feel like volunteering. I want to be paid. I don't expect anyone here to find me a job, but just wanted some hugs and support. Thank you.

You got it! Hugs from me.

There are a lot of people in similar situations on PC.

Try to stay assertive. It's safer to assume there's a job out there for you, rather than the negative assumption that there's none. Prove yourself wrong!

Please have high hopes, it's worth the effort.
