Why does human resources attract such jerks? I feel like I'm at a Soviet gulag every time I go over to the local jobs center for job hunting. For example, the interviewer asks me if I have any clerical experience for an entry-level job even though I've been in the workforce for a couple decades and have several years of state government experience, all plainly listed on my record with them. I have a college degree, and I'm surprised they haven't asked me if I can count to ten.

Yeah it's frustrating, but just try to remember that they're just doing there jobs, and they probably have forms they have to fill out. Stupidist example of this that I ever ran into was about 10 years ago now, when I was down in the US for 3 days of interviews for a VP Finance role, and I was given an application to fill out that asked me how many words per minute I could type - not exactly relevant to the job, and it just made me think the organization was someplace I didn't want to work.
