Hi everyone. I lost my last job, during the probationary period, after only 2 months back at the end of Feb., since then I've been in rehab, and deliberately not job hunting.

Well now it's time to start. So I'll be updating my resume and start sending out applications starting tomorrow.

I'm really worried because I'm not including the 2 months job on my resume, and it'll look like I've been unemployed for a year, plus I have another one year gap on my resume.

I've signed up for a 2 day job search workshop this Thurs. and next Mon. that I've heard really good things about and that isn't too expensive. I figure I need to do something to do to get my head back into job search mode. Plus Tues. night I'm forcing myself to go to a finance association, that I belong to, networking event. I hate, and suck at networking. But I know I need to get out of my comfort zone.

I just really hate job hunting and am really freaked out and anxious about it. But I know I need to do it.

Wish me luck anyone?

Thanks.

Thanks everyone, the job hunt hasn't been great so far - mainly because I had a couple of weeks where I just got so overwhelmed I shut down and didn't get much of anything accomplished. I did get one telephone interview, but it didn't go anywhere.

I'm feeling a tad more positive today - I managed to apply to 5 jobs yesterday, and I've already heard back from one of them, and have a telephone interview today. Nervous.

My career coaching thing was good. But it definitely pushed me outside my comfort zone. He wants me to be a lot more aggressive in job hunting. He wants me to redo, slightly, my resume, come up with a one page marketing piece for myself, start targeting hiring managers directly with direct mail cards promoting myself, doing one on one networking meetings, and start a business blog. EAK!!! I don't think I can handle one on one networking meetings - too scary for me. But I'm thinking about the other stuff.

Found another job today, that I'll apply to. My weird background in sales and finance would make me a perfect fit for it.
