I talked to my career coach who was also acting as the recruiter on the Mississauga job. He said the interviewer liked me, and thought I had the skills to do the job, but got scared off when I asked to work flex time to accomodate a weekly medical appointment. He thought I might get overwhelmed and not be able to do the job.
Lesson learned - do not bring up the need for flex time, until the job offer is firmly in hand. --splitimage |

Everyone brings to the hiring process their own needs and wants, both employers and would-be employees. And general commercial morality doesn't require the kind of purity and truthfulness hoped and longed for in parent/child, therapist/patient or confessor/penitent relationships. While I wouldn't agree with some that it's a dog-eat-dog world, there certainly are some dog-eat-dog aspects. Take care! ![]()

I had a similar experience, only flex time needed was to pick up a child (late) at school, requiring me to leave at 4:30 some days. They didn't even want to risk that. So, as others said, lesson learned.
