Hi, haven't posted in quite a while. Having problems with finance i.e. money going out and nothing coming in. But that is something ongoing and finding a job (not that there is much out there) should help with that. My biggest problem and I hope someone can give me any legal advice is that I had taken out vehicle finance on a used car. The payments are £200.00 a month over 60 payments. I was working at the time and the biggest bug bear of all is that I have never actually had use of the car, it was for my brother in law who wanted it but he couldn't get finance (wonder why?) So we made an agreement that I would take out the finance, he got the car and he would pay me the £200.00 each month. These payments come directly out of my bank account and I am relying on the brother in law to hand the cash over to me. The 31st payment of 60 had been taken from my account at the beginning of this month and out of the 31 payments so far he has only paid roughly 12 to me (I've lost count) leaving a huge chunk of the balance which I have paid directly so he owes somewhere in the region of £3,500.00 the vehicle registration documents are registered to him. I had asked the car dealer for the vehicle to be registered to me as I am f***king paying for it but was told it had to be registered to my brother in law. Legally as more than 50% has been paid I can return the car back to the finance company but how do I get the car of my brother in law as it is in his possession and has the documents. Should I go to the police to make him hand the car over? And how can I pursue him for the money he owes me? I can hardly afford to run my own car, the insurance is up for renewal, I can't f**king pay it and now I won't even have a car myself to use and where I stay there is no public transport unless I walk 2 miles down the road for a bus service that runs every 2 hours and only operates between the hours of 7am to 6pm and only one route. It makes finding a job even more difficult and I can't even get to the job centre to sign on so therefore I am receiving no benefits. My mother gives me some money from time to time but it's not fair on her and she can hardly afford it herself.
