a few months ago, i passed a local non-profit office that provided services to help people find jobs. it was just a coincidence. i went inside and took the forms to sign up. a month or so later, i finally dropped off the completed forms so that i could begin taking some computer tutorials to improve my knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. however, all i got was the time and date of an appointment to begin the "process" which included resume classes and evaluation by a counselor.

so, today i started the program and met with a counselor. i told her that i feared that no one would hire me with my work record, having been let go from my last two jobs. i told her of the PTSD, anxiety and depression that i've been suffering from, and that i had been seeing a T 2-3 times per week for treatment. to my surprise, she is referring me to a different one of their offices for further evaluation. she believes that i would be better off on disability because i am not able to work because of these illnesses, nor am i able to withstand the stress a full-time job entails. so, even though i have an interview on thursday for a part-time administrative assistant job, i am awaiting the counselor's phone call confirming arrangements for mental health evaluation. i discussed it with my T afterwards and he seemed relieved for me.

meantime, tomorrow i have an appointment with a Pdoc. it will be interesting to hear his recommendations.

I am crossing my finger for you --happyguy. I hope things wokr out for you. I understand that disability also allows a certain numbers of hours of work per week or something also, if you still want to keep your foot in the door so to speak. Is this assumption correct?

yesterday i FINALLY met with a pdoc. he did not prescribe. instead, he wants me to have a neurological assessment and be placed on a med to treat epilepsy. also, he thinks i am capable of working and should not be on disability.

meantime, the nonprofit community center has arranged for me to have an interview with a counselor next wednesday. i am going to go and see what they say.
