I started working on my first project for the company I'm contracting to. They'd sent me a file, for analysis. At first I thought it was going to be a straightforward 3-5 hour job. But their file was garbage - tons of errors. I wound up having to look up almost every single title on their database page. I worked 10 hours and only got 1/3 of the way through.

So I e-mailed my project manager, explained the situation, and asked him if he wasnted me to send it in, as is, or keep working trying to clean it up.

He authorized me for another 20 hours to finish it, plus gave me another project.

I hope this pace keeps up for a while, because I really need the money.
