My contract ended on Friday (8-31). I'm kinda at a loss right now. It took me so long to find this job and now I've got to find a new one!
![]() I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. There just isn't anything here despite this area's size, but I just don't have the means to move anywhere, and I'd have to move so far nobody's willing to hire me. Back at square one again... ![]() |

I've always enjoyed a lot about working for myself ... but the ending of contracts wasn't among the perks. I'm so sorry, Umbral_Seraph. Just go for that next job like you know it's there!

I got bought-out nearly 5 year's ago and have been working on many freelance projects. I'm loyal with excellent communication skills and not afraid of the long hours. However, I keep running into bad people. Bad? Young H-R people and hiring managers who think I'm a threat to their own jobs. I'm well established on Linked-In and follow the many job site for new positions. I know the high paying jobs are a thing of the past but no one will give me a chance to prove myself. I've always been mentally tough and staying positive throughout all of this. Now, this no full-time work is started to get to me and cause sleepless nights, anxiety and minor depression. Anyone, either career counselor or headhunter, claims they can help but "send the check or credit card number first." I don't think help exists?
