So, a little background information. My boss is trying to get me to quit. At first, he didn't give me any hours for a four week schedule. I confronted him about it, and he said he'd look into it.

Two weeks later, he didn't do it so I went in to see him today.

He told me things like "Well, we're trying to cut back on hours now", "I need you during the week but your schedule doesn't permit that" and also "I don't want to just call you if someone is sick..."

So, he came up with a "plan". He said I could do inventory for Saturdays and Sundays for six hours each day.

That is a demotion considering what I did before. He's just trying to get me to quit now and he's not going to put me on the schedule anymore, just told me that I can come in on Saturdays and Sundays.

My parents think it's because he knows I'm mentally ill and he doesn't want to deal with the fact that if he fires me, I could find a way to sue him because of my mental illness.

Also, I have to go in tomorrow to start this new job and I have to face all the people I work with. Especially this one B**** that is probably going to make some kind of snide remark at the fact that I've been demoted.

I don't know how to handle either of these situations.

I should mention, I was offered another job awhile ago and I turned it down, as this job was better at the time, so I called them and told the guy I interviewed that I already met with him and he said he'd put my application towards the front.

So, I have another job, more than likely, but until then, I don't know what to do.

Help?

I hope you get the other job.

Where you work now -- is there an employee handbook with rules about how employees are shifted from task to task? Is this guy working under orders from above or do you sense he is trying to pull a fast one?

I'd do the tasks I was required to do until I could quit and go to my new employer, only because I wouldn't want gaps in my employment history.

I'm sorry you are being treated this way.

There isn't anything in the employee handbook, unfortunately. But, thankfully, she was nice today.

But thank you! It wasn't awful today, it was bearable. But too slow for my liking. I hope I get the other job too.

Don't let the bas&ard get to you. Regardless of weather your taking inventory or mopping floors. It's a job. Much better than being unemployed.
Plus the B**** is just a "can't do nothing about it" type so you've have her by the *****.
So put on your sweetest smile and have a "Hi how ya doing" for everyone until you find another job. Don't let them get to you no matter how long it takes for a new job offer to arrive.
I'm confident it will get another job.
good luck.
