Hi, I'm in high school right now and it's my biggest dream ever to go into the medical field. I'm good at bio and chem but I REALLY SUCK at math. Does anyone know how this might affect me later on?

I went to physician assistant school. In undergraduate school, I only had to take pre-calculus and elementary statistics (I can't remember if I needed the statistics or if that was needed when I was going to major in education). In PA school, I only had to take one basic statistics course. Considering I HATE statistics, it wasn't too bad. I'm not sure how much math is included in med school though. I would encourage you to do some research online. Most schools have listed online what is required to get into the program and what the class load of the program will be like. I hope you find the answers you are looking for!

You don't have to be awful at math. Enlist the help of your school's math teachers in helping you become proficient. Engage a fellow student in tutoring you if possible.

Definitely get some tutoring at school. Sometimes a different perspective will click with your learning style. |
