I'm working a thankless job that's giving me low self-esteem. The crux of the matter is the boss never gave me a chance to do the usual job duties that everyone else does, so everyone treats me like a retard. He has kept me to remedial chores that no one else likes to do. There's not much point in applying elsewhere because I've been treated similarly by past employers. I need to be self-employed, but since my hours were slashed, I can't save enough money to get started with my own business although I have one in mind if I ever were to have some money.

Your health is important too. How long have you been feeling like this? You can apply elsewhere, don't let your job dictate your future

I'm sorry that your boss is treating you that way. That's horrible. Is it possible in your line of work to freelance for another firm to get some extra income? I know it isn't a solution to your problem exactly, but perhaps one of the freelance jobs could turn into a permanent one. Just a thought, I dunno.

I can relate. I feel as though I am stuck in a box and everytime I try to get out, the lid is slammed shut. It has become quite depressing....our president was in town today and although I have spoken with him in the past (to no avail), I was so sad I left the office and went home.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I just viewed the replies since I haven't checked this thread since a few days after it was posted. It's possible I could work another job during the day since my current job is nightshift. I've rarely worked two jobs in the past, but maybe I could try it out.
