So I work in fast food. and I'm sick today. Not bad enough to make me miss an important audition I have- but bad enough to make me feel fuzzy, flemy, and coughing (but not out of control).
I have the option to not go to work today and have this guy cover me- because I know I'm contagous and serving people foood----- Bleh HOWEVER- this guy who can cover me almost died last week of pneumona because he worked too much. I'm close wth his family and if they fnd out I asked him to cover me over a little cold it could cause problems... Also- most people at my work call it "dedication" when someone comes in sick. But I think it's wrong to jeopardize this customers... I dunno what to do. |

I'd give the guy recovering from pneumonia a break ... Respiratory illnesses are nothing to toy around about and if he relapses it could prove fatal to him this go round.

I would find someone else to cover for you. Or, here's a concept, it's the boss's/owner's problem and they know everyone's schedule better, tell them you are sick and let them find someone else if they want/need to.
However, if you feel you have to find someone and don't have anyone else to find, I'd call the guy recovering from pneumonia -- he's in charge of taking care of his own health and dealing with his family, etc. He may want the extra money after being out sick.

Well.. u can do either of these in my opinion
1).u can go out clean to ur boss telling the problem 2)there's a mid way as in u can go to work n also not jeopardise customers health by wearing a mouth piece kinda thing the doctors wear (I dunno exactly what that called) 3)or else have someone else cover for u than the pneumonia guy..... |
