I think my co workers are messing with me. I called them on it and they just paint me crazy. For example, ever since I got my cellphone I've been getting calls and texts at all hours of the day for someone named X, I assumed it was a different spelling I was going to contact this person to stop using my cell number to give out to people. I didn't find anyone by that name. My mom recently told me it was spelled differently and what are the odds that a co worker who has a daughter who is also a co workers name is the first one to pop up. There was one other person, but this was in another state. The calls have largely stopped due to me blocking them. I only gave my number to three people, I really would like to do something about this. I never talk to this person or work with them much. I know I've posted on this before, but I finally have something kind of tangible, and wanted to know if this is something I should be concerned over or am I seeing more into this than I should?

I get strange cell phone calls all of the time. Once you give up a phone number, like when you move, it is usually just assigned to someone else.
I even had someone call me and demand "who is this???" ---I didn't call this person, not even by accidental "butt dialing". My phone history had no record of me making any unknown calls. So strange cell phone stuff is common, no worries. |

At this point I wouldn't be overly concerned. Like the other poster wrote, calls to the wrong phone number are common. However, don't mention the calls at work; if people you know are behind it, you'd don't want to give them the satisfaction that you were annoyed.

Cell phone numbers get re-used, just like regular numbers. I would call/go to your cell provider and get a new number (if you have only given the number out to 3 people).
