Just three weeks ago I was plagued by severe depression after a hypomanic episode - - not sure about wanting to live. After being on viibryd since that time, and finally getting up to 200 mg of lamictal, I feel like I'm coming out of the depression. I find myself actually being bored with so much free time, whereas before I wasn't sure I could make it through the day, didn't want to leave the house or socialize.
I'm a self-employed (thank God!) attorney with a low caseload right now. Since I do Social Security disability appeals, I called my shrink and asked him to keep me in mind for referrals. I also called 2 other attorneys in the field that I know are very busy and asked them for referrals. I feel good about taking some steps to give my life more purpose and fill up what sometimes seems like unending boredom and want for something to do. All I can say is I'm so grateful for psych meds because they seemed to have really turned my outlook around. |
