i usually never ask my boss for anything. but thanksgiving is coming. and my work load is more then. the other day i asked if i could get some extra help for it. she said yes. that someone could help me for 1 1/2 hrs. its not enough but i was thankful to get it. but then today she said that person didnt need to help me because i am training a new person. and they could help me instead. and how nice it was that the other person didnt have to stay and help. but i was thinking if im training them its not really the extra help i was asking for. they are new. and dont know anything yet. i cant do my thing. and they do theirs. and we get alot done. i have to be right beside the new person. explaining things. we can only do one task together. not separate tasks. thats what the extra help was suppose to be. while i am doing my stuff. they were to other extra stuff. i dont see how i can do that if im training. also training seems to slow things down. not make it faster. i think she tricked. just made it look like she gave me help. im worried if i can get it all done. and now its complicated by having to train someone at the same time.

Hi suzzie, I don't know you that well, but I recognize your avatar name. I am just leaving my thoughts to your post.

So, take what you like and leave the rest behind. I always write this because everyone is different and circumstances are different. Plus, I believe people have free will to choose what they like and what they do not like.

It could be helpful if you could clarify the situation. Your boss could acknowledge that you have additional responsibility with this training assignment. You could ask about the responsibility of the work being done. e.g. who is responsible to make sure the work is being done correctly. Just some points to indicate that both you and your boss understand the process involved with completing the two assignments(one, training new employee and two, completing the current amount of workload.) As you have pointed out that more effort and work intensity is required, your boss has acknowledged that with the extra help plus the employee you are training.

Somewhere during the process of clarifying the workload situation, your boss will see your point(s).
