As I recently posted, I started a new internship. Everyone there wears jeans, but I'm just the lowly intern and feel awkward doing that. So I guess I wear business casual, but more on the casual side?

So... What do you guys wear?

I work the front desk so I try to dress a little nicer than some of the other employees who wear jeans and t-shirt. Usually, sweaters and slack.

Dress for the job you want, not for the job you have. If someone sees you dressed so nice they won't mistake you for the lowly intern. They will mistake you for a higher up and possibly promote you. People who are dressed nice are treated better, a well known fact.
Thanks for this!

Business casual, involves pants/slacks, semi-dressy shirts/blouses, sweaters, nice pair of shoes, low blocky heel or flats, trouser socks, a must. Internships are about networking and getting noticed, along with the experience/training, dress to be taken seriously.

Hope all goes well.
Thanks for this!

Business casual at my office gig, except casual Fridays when we can wear jeans and polo shirts. In my studio creating art, I'm most comfortable in T-shirts, athletic pants, hoodie, shorts or whatever the season calls for.

My office we can wear whatever we want - jeans, shorts, flip flops, work out clothes...I find most people start off "business casual" then only take a week or 2 to acclimate to the jeans and tees environment.

Take a look at the most respected/admired folks and follow their lead

I do contracting and handyman work, so I have different outfits for different jobs. Slacks and a polo with company logo when meeting with clients, making bids, etc.; jeans and t-shirt on drywall, roofing, framing jobs and the like; painter's blues; a crawlsuit for entering crawlspaces; and back to the slacks and polo for electrical work (plastic buttons rather than metal you find on jeans, plus a contractor I used to work for taught me that you encounter a different set of customer expectations when doing electric work.)

Aside from that, I have three tool belts so I can have different rigs for different jobs rather than carrying around a whole lot of stuff I don't need. Then there's various safety equipment, again depending on the job.

I do the whole business casual thing. Nice shirt and slacks. Usually it's a button up short sleeve shirt. I'm stuck wearing my mary jane sketchers shape ups though, cause every time i wear a diff pair of shoes, my back goes haywire. Luckily all the places I've worked are tattoo friendly, so I don't have to cover up the tattoo on my foot. I really do hate wearing socks.
