I've decided to not practice law anymore and have been searching for a job as a paralegal. I finally had an interview yesterday for a full-time family law paralegal position about 35 minutes away. I would LOVE this job. I will find out early next week one way or the other.

Although I'm excited about the prospect of getting this job, I'm also scared about the increased stress in my life. I've worked part time for the past 8 years or so (self employed too). I'm worried I'll be too stressed out from work to take care of non-work responsibilities during my off time. I know it sounds silly, but I'm used to having so much free time to get stuff done. On the flipside, I've been complaining of being so bored with all my free time! Why do I get myself in these "can't win" frames of mind?

We do have a cleaning lady and I have a husband who said he'd be willing to do his own laundry. He has a lot more energy than I do, so he could help out with grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions, etc.

Cool part of the job is if I were to work until 7 p.m. on Monday nights, I could leave at 1 p.m. on Fridays. I could make pdoc, hair and dentist appointments for during that time.

I have got to quit worrying about stuff. I've worked full time before and made my life work at the same time, so this shouldn't be any different. You get done what needs to get done, right? Anyway, keep your fingers crossed that the job comes through for me. It'd be perfect for me!

Good luck on the job position. There will be adjustments but I'm sure you will work it out just fine. We learn to adapt. Glad your husband is willing to help out. Hope you get the job.
