I was just wondering if anyone else seems to perform better at work with BP? I know for some reason if I'm having manic episode which tends to happen more often than not, I feel more focused. Like I just want things to get done ultra fast and I turn into a perfectionist. I don't do anything technical I just mine coal, but I cut it faster when I'm feeling up and there is no slowing me down. I even have to wait on the shear because it tends to over heat as fast as I want to go. Plus I also put myself into some dangerous situations, standing where I shouldn't is my biggest problem. There is just something about getting hit by rocks that gets the blood flowing. I guess I was just wondering who likes to work when they are on the up side of BP.

Mania: work gets done and then some. Win awards and ****.
Depression: I sit at my desk and do nothing all day.

my depressions became more dominant, now I'm unemployed

I always quit my job when I'm up. I think I should be doing something more productive than working for someone else.
Then, when I come down, I realise the mistakes I've made.

My brother has done pretty well for himself, overall. He has never been diagnosed and I'm wouldn't ask him to. I'm only speculating on that part. But he will go through very long periods of intense technical school or work (very intense) along with heavy biking, triathlons and spending sprees. These days it's boats. Then crash into a really dark hole, speaking to no one. Don't know what the long term finances are like but he's been at the same company forever.

ALL of my manic tendencies are rewarded at work, but they also cause me to set the bar higher and higher for myself, which leads to a big crash.

I know this all to well. Works both ways with other things to like emotions. If something bad happens when your depressed you just moan and go home but if your up on that day you will say something about it and possibly sounds very angry to others.
